What's your strategy?

I see that 7.45 is still too early for me to get my grammar right. Lol. Can a post title be edited?

Where I live it's 6.50 and that's the time I'd wake up anyways, so for me it's not a biggie.

I usually wake up in time. Not this particular morning though. But I don't do alarms.

Live in Scotland, different time zone at least 2 centuries behind everyone else.

Never really checked but is that 5am imperial time?

I'll be in Orkney very soon. Expect to see only armoured knights in premium shop.

Weekdays my alarm is set for 0520 since I have to be out the door by 0630, so for me 0600 BM is perfect time. Make cup of coffee and boot up the laptop and log in whilst making myself breakfast.

I don't even bother in the afternoon, so why would I bother in the morning?

05:00 for me in the UK. I've just logged on and the latest one is sold out, already.

This is not funny. I don't even want the tanks but the principal that I have to get up at stupid o'clock or I don't even get the chance is nothing short of utter [edited]

I'll be out this afternoon at 5pm. It's a bank holiday here and I am going to a car show in a nearby town. I don't anticipate being back until early evening. So one of two things will happen: I'll miss an opportunity to buy a tank I might actually want- for credits- or it will be another PoS that I could still buy several thousand of with mountains of Gold at 04.59 tomorrow morning.

The entire event has not impressed me one little bit. Don't get me wrong, I was never going to spend that much gold on a Type-59, and I was never going to buy the Alpine Tiger, but I would like to have OPPORTUNITY to CONSIDER whether or not I am going to buy something and not find out that they are sold out every time I log on.

Is it just me, or is this "limited sales and you have to be online at 0500hrs" gimmick just another disastrous way of introducing resentment into the playerbase - i.e. all those in the wrong timezone/ job/ life circumstance/ etc get to miss out on the offers?

I personally don't care - I long ago stopped buying anything in WoT or even playing - but I'm active in WoWS and WoWP, and all of WG's titles seem to follow this trend of separating players into the "haves" and the "have nots". Flash sales, limited time offers, limited numbers offers, all seem to benefit some players over others.

WG simply realised that people don't buy Gold or mixed Gold/Silver packages when they have piles left from Chrismass-Boxes and between playing frontline with premium tanks and all the events players just swim in Silver.

The whole event is basically an attempt to drain Gold/Silver without affecting the MM too much.

Add it up (just the big offers so far:

1000 T59 Gs for 25k Gold = 25 million gold gone

1400 Alpine Tigers for 10k gold = 14 million gold gone

20000 FV183s for 23M Silver = 460 billion silver gone

5000 Can AX for 9M Silver = 45 billion silver gone

5000 Pz4 H for 6,5M silver = 32,5 billion silver gone

If they bring a few more that sell out fast odds are they can easyly double that.

I expect that they'll occasionally reboot the event to drain more silver/gold - once the "camp it" crowd is satisfyed it just means the stuff will sell out over time (well, the alpine tiger didn't, but 10k pieces for a total of 100 million gold was hardly likely to be "all gone")

You are not the first, nor probably the last to complain about the set times (0500 UK, 0600 Mainland Europe and 0700 RU), but I have yet to see even one of you suggest a better time (and not one that would just suit you personally). 1200 and 0000? 1000 - 2200? See the problem with those timings…?

The timings themselves are not the point; its the timings in combination with the limited availability of the product that is linked to those timings.

This particular sales method disadvantages a significant portion of the playerbase. By contrast, for example, if the same tanks at the same price were freely available in store for a couple of weeks, then few would be in a position to complain.

If the product has to be limited in number, then there are plenty of other ways to distribute them in a manner where players feel they had a fair chance. E.g. perhaps a batch of product goes on sale every hour for  a 24hr period; alternatively perhaps have a daily 24hr lottery - i.e. at any time during the day you can buy a ticket that commits to a purchase of the tank if you win in a draw held at 0001 hrs or similar - if unsuccessful your payment is refunded in time for next day's lottery offer, etc.

I think whichever way you do this, people are going to miss out and / or complain. Say, 500 go out every hour for 24hrs. Someone will miss out on the first 500 because they sold in 22 seconds, then miss out on the second 500 and then go on these forums to complain that they have to work a 20 hour shift and miss out on the rest. "Why not do all of them at once so I had a chance to buy!?!?". And a lottery of any type would likely cause an even greater uproar by those screaming "fixed!" "only for premium account holders right?!?!" "F U RNG" etc etc.

The point of this whole BM is basically to relieve people of excess gold and credits, and get those that are getting swepped up in the hype to buy credits and gold in the store. By doing so in limited numbers they are not shooting themselves in the foot by flooding the game with them and decreasing demand for them in the long run (we may even see the Type 59 G in the loot boxes this Christmas dont you think?). They are also getting the game talked about (advertising), creating a frenzy amongst clan members / friends and here on the forums ( mean, apart from maybe the initial planned PMM changes, have you ever seen a thread get to 100 pages so quickly??), etc etc. From a business standpoint (exposure, money, participation) this whole BM thing has been a very good move by WG...

Black Market times are set according what is best for RU server. They are important to WG.

07:00 in morning is probably set because most of people going to school/work should be up anyway but still not on way to school/work.

Than 19:00 is just 12 hours after.

And than EU (and specially those on GMT) "suffer" with offer start times because RU is important and we just have to follow. Black Market offers are same (RU have higher quantities due to bigger player base) so times are adopted for RU playerbase.

Without completely different offers it is not possible to have "normal" times in EU.
