skoda50 , bc25ap and t55a are the best tier 9 meds imo

So please tell me what in your opinion is the best tier 9 Medium Tank? :)

A medium tank at tier 9 must be versatile. Decent speed, viewrange, gun depression, and the gun itself. In the absence of a decent turret then the gun must be accurate enough to allow limited exposure for aiming.

Standard B, Patton, Cent 7/1 for me for all slightly different reasons. There are other tanks that do things very well, but often are better tailored to personal playstyle. These are what I'd go for middle of the road. If you can personally make another medium work better then that's the one for you.

Centurion 7/1 Is definitely the best tank in the game.

Lots of options, shows how much better balanced tier 9 is compared to tier 10, Standard B is the correct answer to the question but its close.

Classic "depends on your playstyle" but that's the case really. You like the big alpha Chinese med, willing to sacrifice a lot for that alpha, that's your preference so for you, the WZ-120 is what you're after. Don't get me wrong, I love big alpha guns but sometimes the trade for that alpha just ain't worth it and for me, I have to have some mobility too when it comes to meds and generally all tank classes, just hate slow tanks.

It's when you compare the T9 meds to T8 meds does it become clear just how really most all of them are great and you'll be happy with any of them I dare say. I think the best advice I would give you would be to get the T8 T-44 and B-C since both those lines are actually fun to play and grind at just about any tier but more importantly both will eventually unlock a total of 5 T9 tanks for you, 4 meds and 1 light, all good, all fun.

Hello :)

I started this thread to talk about the Best tier 9 Medium Tank in the game, so that another thread would not get too much off topic.

I argue that WZ-120 is the best tier 9 Medium because it has the highest Alpha.

Sure it has a long reload time but most of the time its about trading shots and with the high alpha you can put much Hurt in the enemy with on shot.

Be it a light tank driving by... PLAM! 440 HP off from that.

You see a enemy going for cover to hide and you have one chance to shoot him, 440 alpha.

You are the last tank in your team with low Hit Points and the enemy tank has 400 hit points left. 440 alpha is better than 390.

And so on.

So please tell me what in your opinion is the best tier 9 Medium Tank? :)

Standard B followed closely by E50.

Interesting question and I suspect the answers are subjective. Presently I am playing through the Standard B and really enjoying I, but I reserve judgement until I have over one hundred games in it.

AMX 30 1er Proto = like it, kept it.

Leopard PTA = I like it and kept it.

E 50 Aust.M = I like this as well and kept it.

Object 430 II = have ground through it twice. Sold. Too awkward to be really fun and flexible. (ground through it for the tier X 430 and then again for the K-91).

Object 430 = very strong armour, I still have it, but might sell it

T55A = enjoyable but I do not play it that often

T54E1 = liked it, expensive to run with food and type 2 ammo, sold it.

M46 Patton = liked it, kept it awhile and then sold it, always think about re-buying it.

WZ-120 - sold uncomfortable to play with the lack of gun depression and lack of speed, the 430 just out classes it in all it is supposed to be good at.

Centurion 7/1 = my second favourite of all the tier IX mediums, I kept it.

Bat-Chat 25t = never played it or owned it, I got my Bat Chat from the Lorraine 40T when that was tier IX.

Type 61 = I really quite like this tank apart from the weakspot. Kept it.

Skoda T50 = very good. I kept it.

So the one not mentioned, the one tier IX medium to rule them all in my view = T54. Purely because it is the most versatile. Not the best at anything, but damn good at speed, armour, turret , and gun.

Many people say Standard B, I don’t have it so cant judge.

Interesting, but considering that apart gun mantlet that tank has teabag armor (both turret and hull), and over-matched easily by 100+ calibers. 80 mm front and 27-35 mm sides are weak for tiers far bellow tier 9 (for instance. t34-85 has the same or even better armor and it is a t6), so lacking an option to block shots should keep it out of the best list, isn't it?

Depends what way you look at it and playstyle. I have the Standard B, not played it yet but looking forward to it. Not the paper armor but consider this. The T8 M4 Rev has paper armor, is very slow and is a big unit, but it's actually a great tank and fun to play, at least imo. Well, the Standard B is just one tier higher only, while it has the paper armor like the Rev, it has really excellent mobility unlike the Rev, has a great top speed unlike the Rev and where the rev is handicapped somewhat by having 200 pen, the Standard B has almost 270 along with 1500 insta-hit shell velocity like the Rev and of course, it has a 3 mag ammo A-R to call on too along with a low profile, good camo and good view range so for me and my redline camping stat padding sniper race around the map sort of ways, I know I'll most likely enjoy that tank.

i really do not mind the lack of gun depression...

there are only hew maps that do cause problems when i end up in them.

Bad maps.

going from worst to manageable:

Overlord. (Blocked)

Erlenberg. (Blocked)

Westfield.

Prokhorovka.

Serene Coast.

Sand River.

Malinovka.

Mannerheim Line.

Empires Border.

Good maps.

going from great to worst:

Studzianki.

Ensk.

Minks.

Pilsen.

Siegfried Line.

Ruinberg.

Glacier.

Himmelsdorf.

Lake Ville.

Highway.

Ghost Town.

and the rest thats left. :P

Flat city maps are the way to go :great:

You seem to be the odd one out tho.

Nothing wrong with that either (I myself am no stranger to this)

This would be also my pick, but frankly T-55A is just flat out better.

Simply because while T-54 has to make a compromise between guns, T-55A has it all with a single gun. T-54 has more armor, but not enough to make a difference.

It is good, no doubt about it. High velocity shells are especially a nice feature. Progetto has the same flavor, and I do like that tank. Comparing Standard B to a Rev is a bit unfair, I consider Rev more of a TD than a medium.

The problem I face with a Progetto as well other fast non-armored mediums is that they are mediocre (at best) at holding a spot. In corridor meta that is a real drawback on all maps with choke points and probably on all of the city maps. The only way to work around that is relocate and flank, which requires a lot of knowledge, its situational and map dependent.

I think a tank should be more versatile for being called "the best". If it’s efficiency is skill related than it is the best choice for a good player, not so for an average bob or worse. Having a "mistake forgiving" armor attribute is welcome, but realistically a "workable armor" is the most what you can get from a medium (excluding "heviums", Spershing for instance). No armor causes lots of problems when encounter becomes mid to close range, and fighting tier 10 tanks makes it even harder.

7/1 is the best all rounder out of the ones I've played, having good armour, great mobility, gun depression and amazing gun. Others I've played being -

T-54 - Really didn't like this one, poor module damage, HEAT almost a necessity, poor gun dep with bad turret placement. Mobility and camo were solid though that did make it enjoyable at times.

Obj430ii - Was okayish, if awkward to play before the change, did not get on with it after its armour was gimped.

Type 61 - Its like a 7/1 that trades having 330 HEAT for being terrible in all other regards. Awful tank.
