I was just hoping to find what people thought were the best premium mediums?

This is for credit making but obviously how good the tank is plays a large role in that.

I have not added a poll as there is just too many medium premiums to add so all replies would be helpful even if as simple as a tank name.

Any larger more detailed answers or simply adding a reason would be much appreciated!

From store all around:

M4A1 Revalorise

PROS:

- cheap shells

- 390 alpha

- fast apcr rounds

- 10 degrees gun depression

- affordable, being second cheapest premium in the store

CONS:

- No armor

- bad camo

- french gunhandling (it's magic, really)

- pen is meh

- mobility is... not bad, not good.

All in all one of my favorite tanks. If you can play smart and know good locations where to keep that gun singing all game long, you'll rack up tons of XP. You'll also feel good every time you've played a good game, because most of the time you need to outsmart opponents to do that.

From special offers you can get all sorts of nice medium tanks, but the general consensus seems to be that the best one is PROGETTO.

- auto-reloader

- nice pen

- mobile

- good gun depression

It's awesome, but I just don't like it.

T-44-100, hands down.

It might actually come up in the Black Market event at some point, now that I think about it... :amazed:

Mid tier: T-34-85M

Higher tier, very much dependant on your playstyle: brawler, flanker, sniper, all-round, auto-(re) loader vs single shot, etc.

The Centurion 5/1 easily. Solid turret, okay upper plate against lower tier opponents, good gun and okay mobility. As for credit making, the standard shells are a bit expensive but they make up for that with the good pen and their shell velocity.

Others might prefer the Progetto or the Lorraine but these two require some extra effort on the player's part to perform well in them. Nevertheless they both are excellent mediums especially the Progetto and will teach you, if you're willing, how to play with paper tanks.

In med tier there is of course the T-34-85M, an excellent tier 6 and a jack of all trades. I don't know exactly about its credits income!

That is also a bit down to you and your style tbh. T26E4 with it's cheap as chips gun cost still works for me. Might not work for you if you don't like the slow style with armor, high pen "for a US med" a side. Or even the Progetto that works for me as an income machine. But if you don't like fast paper tanks. Then who knows. As if you struggle with a tank's style to get it to work, then it won't make you that much vs one you feel more comfortable with.

So if you point out what you like in the tanks you already have. It might be easier for others to help out.

Progetto and the Lorraine 40t followed by the T-44-100, I also find the M4A1 Revalorise to be rather nice but the mobility is a drawback that is hard to neglect while comparing it to the other 3.

Loads of people recommended the T-44-100 and that tank is indeed a joy to play. And if you want to make sure it is, it's pretty much like the regular T-44 with a 100mm. Surprise. The only downside is that it's not on sale right now. The Progetto 46 and Lorry 40t are awesome as well. Both are really mobile and really flexible. Their auto (re-)loaders make them especially great in the late game when you really need to assassinate some enemies. But their biggest downside is simple. They are not on sale right now. I also like the punchy gun of the Lansen C, but it's gun handling and aim time is kinda C-class. With a bit of finesse, it's not that bad. But again, it's not on sale. Seems like all the superstars are out of town.

Neither are the Centurion 5 (and the Primo Victoria). Both of those are basically Centurions (the name might have given that spoiler away). They're pretty fine, but the small caliber gun has low alpha damage and the shells are really, really expensive. Almost 700 credits for 230 damage or so? So I'd feel hard-pressed to recommend them for grinding silver.

When it comes to making money, the M4 Ravioli is very good. The 105mm round is extremely cheap. Something like 500 silver. By comparison Rusky 122mm rounds that deal the same 390 damage per shot cost over 1000 credits. The M4 Reversi standard APCR shells have an extreme high velocity and that helps landing shots on moving targets since they need less lead. The gun's downside is the lackluster ~200mm penetration. It's usually "good enough", but you do need to know where to aim. The gun handling and depression is great. Now I love my Shermans, but it is basically a tier 5 tank. At tier 8, it's not that great anymore and of course, the bigger gun adds more weight and decreases the mobility. The M4 revenant is a pure support tank. I doubt you will get the medium gameplay you'd want from it.

Personally, looking at the tier 8 premium mediums available from the in-game tech tree, the one I enjoyed the most would be the Mutz. This does not mean it is a good tank. Most tier 8 mediums have a 88mm/90mm gun whose damage output is rather on the low side which means they need to expose themselves more often to get off all those shots. Their armour, hit point pool, mobility and camo are also generally fairly balanced... and by that I do mean mediocre. Given that, I still like the Mutz. For me, it was the tank I'd wanted the Indien Panzer to be. I played the original Indien. The one that had a 14km/h top speed on soft terrain with the stock engine and the one that took as long to fully aim as it took to reload and the reload was slow. By contrast, the Mutz is zippy and agile and the gun handling is okay.

I'm not sure about the Super Pershing. It's supposed to have been buffed, haven't tried it in its current state. I presume it hasn't turned into a genuine speed demon. While it does have some extra armour plates up front, just assume players with brains know where to shoot. There are always exposed weak spots, even on the front. It does have a great advantage, though. Preferential match-making. Never any tier 10's.

You might also want to consider the T-54 Mod. 1. No preferential match-making, but it has slightly more reliable armour.

I focused on the tier 8's because you mentioned making credits. However, the recommendations for the T-34-85M are very good as well. The T-34-85M used to be a terrible premium. Like a stock T-34-85 but with an extra armour plate on the hull. (Not the turret). Its gun had a higher rate of fire. Then WG buffed it. Gave it the damage and pen of the regular 85, but kept the higher rate of fire. So it is good. Very good. And tier-for-tier I would consider tier 6 mediums quite a bit better than tier 8's.

My question would be what you value in a medium: mobility, fire-power, view-range/camo, armour, economics? Given that you have a Löwe and a TS-5, I'd think you'd want something more mobile because you got slow and armoured covered.

Also don't forget to check out a couple of games on wotreplays or video's youtube once a tank's gotten your interest.
