Hi

I'm about to purchase a tier VIII heavy tank (not Russian or German), but unsure which one. I'm playing kinda aggressive normally.

For 11000 gold I can convert vehicle exp to ~275000 free exp, which would just on the bad side for researching most of the tier VIII heavies (been looking at the Emil I), also it'll cost some credits that I haven't accounted for.

Also, been looking at the premium vehicles like the 50TP Prototyp, T34, 112 or the AMX M4 mle. 49 (, which are in the same price range as 11000 gold.

Which tank would you get? and why?

In advance thanks

Erik

Hi Erik,

Try not to spend free experience on skippingtanks. Just play them, you'll learn the game, train your crew, earn credits and have fun along the way. Then, once you get to tier 9 you will wish you have all the free experience in the world stocked up for immediately getting the best modules.

Emil I 50TP Prototyp, T34, 112 or the AMX M4 mle. 49

Got the 112 and M4 49

The 112 could be good but lacks pen, 186 is waay out of being useful

The M4 49 has a great gun 232 pen and bounces loads of shots

Never got the T34, poor mobility and verrry slow reload, fabby turret front though

(The TS5 has twice the gun rate and is great, DPM is king when you trade in a brawl)

Know nothing about Emil 1 and 50TP

Might be worth waiting a while to see what pops up for the next frontline where premiums are concerned

They had the IS3A on offer at the last one

Only 112 out of those you mentioned goes well with sort of aggressive playstyle. But tbh, aggressive playstyle requires you to have VERY GOOD map awareness and knowledge of the enemy tanks. Imo this is the patient mans game. And best tier8 heavy is probably Caernarvon, but it's not an aggressive tank.

Buy the regular tanks and find one you really like, then buy a premium tank that reviews say plays like it. I made the mistake of buying premium tanks first and now I have a lovely collection of dust collectors sat in the garage.

Aggressive? O-Ho with derp gun.
Not good as O-Ni but still u can bounce and 90% u'll do damage with HE....
Summarizing, not an OP tank but not crap, if you with your comrades and they understand how to substain you you can lead the charge
But idk if it is worth to go past it since type 4 and 5 has been heavily nerfed and many voices say they're no more worth the grind.

 They nerfed O-Ho, too.

For agressive plays Pz 1c is great.

Dont waste your gold converting free xp to unlock a T8heavy, either save the free xp for the modules once you unlock naturally or spend the gold on a prem.  IS3, T32 would be my choices (T32 penetrtion is a bit low but hopefully it's to be buffed "soon" );)

Well, I can really advise to not use free-xp to skip tanks, rather unlock tracks/turrets/guns and play the tanks normally. Most tanks, fully upgraded, are fine to play.

As for premiums, very little good ones are available for gold unfortunately. The competitive ones Wargaming would like you to pay for again in the premium shop because if they can get you to pay once (gold) they can probably get you to pay twice as well....

You can try them out on the testserver for free. I think you get 20k gold, so you need a few server iterations to try them all though...

Caernavon? As it would be en route to tx and the tx Brit seems to be pretty good.....  ;)

But yeh, don't bother - use for crew and modules - crew makes the biggest difference.

As always I would advise using the Common Test to check out tanks.

Not sure if the current one is still running but they loan you 20k gold and 100 million credits and XP.

That lets you buy every none premium Tier 8 tanks in the game and 20k gold probably lets you buy 2 maybe 3 premiums.

Of course you can only buy those that are in the game for gold.

If its no longer running then bear it in mind for the future.

It does require you to download the installer and install the test game in a different folder you your actual game.

Its worth it if you just cannot decide, nothing compares to actually driving the tank shooting and getting shot.
