Lovely to see this tank appear, but I've only played US heavies so haven't a clue how this thing is played.   What's the recommended equipment, how to I played relative to the T29 etc?

Different playstyle to T29 by a considerable amount. It can hull down but very ineffectively. Turret cheeks are very weak, cupola is small but also weak (160mm give or take), turret roof is 40mm so it gets overmatched by 122mm guns.

Hull armour is good, for a T7 tank. Just don't expect to bounce any T9 tanks in it.

Gun isn't bad but not great (you probably have an amazing crew so that'll help). Certainly sufficient for a T7 tank. I don't use gold ammo anymore (not currently anyway) and I haven't feel gimped yet by it. Obviously you will struggle against some tanks but in general the AP is sufficient for everything.

Viewrange is great, you don't need optics, but there's really no better choice for a 3rd equipment slot... It can't mount VStab since it's T7, so go with optics or something else.

My loadout:

I would try it with Winnie-the-Pooh as commander.

A good all around tank.

How to play it depends on the match making. Top tier I mostly go bully stuff, if possible hull down, since the turret can handle frontally most tier7 and below tanks. Bottom tier I try to stay a bit back from the absolute frontline and support the top tier heavies. Against tier8 guns your armor don't matter much while you still might get the odd bounce every now and then.

I use Rammer vents & optics on mine. With the long 88 you won't need much premium ammo since the pen difference isn't all that much. In most cases the standard ammo is sufficient to pen weakspots of most tier9 tanks even.

Can someone tell me please why the King Tiger © literally never gets top tier? I played like 30 battles in 3 days with today and I've never got to be top tier....Tier 8 or tier 8 exclusively. I thought WG stated that the mm will guarantee you to be top tier after a certain amount of battles being lower tier....Looks like they increased that ,,certain'' amount of battles to like 100. Insane and really disappointed with it.

Tiger's I and II are all about the Guns and NOTHING about the Armor....     Anyone with a Working 2 Key will Hole you from ANY Direction except Autobounce Angles...        You're an Opportunist, and Hit from places you're not gonna get Hit at, basically if you hear the Doink Doink look to see who's Spotted and that's your Target.....

Yes, those are the Tier 8 Tiger II, but the Principal is the Same regardless of Tier.....

Tiger II C, just in case you'd rather see that by itself....

Just have to remember Gun First above all Else, THEN the Rest of the Tank......

It doesn't have any real reliable armour. It also suffers from major dmg from High explosive shells, even low calibre HE shells will do 100-150 dmg.

Gun is not good enough for t8/9, battles, and most annoyingly, whenever you get hit you will lose a module or a crewmember.

What I don't understand is why the penetration is so low. It is true that he has a penetration of 202 mm, but that´s with an angle of 30 ° and not 90 ° as in the game, where the penetration should be higher
