Does specialammo compensate for skill?

Does specialammo compensate for skill and knowledge of weakspots etc or is just a reflection the new playerbase aka the needy ones aka those who need allsorts of buffs to perform(food, orders, special equipment. OP-tanks). Like is this a tankgame anymore?

its not tank game, its just very heavily skinned and modded counterstrike with additional star wars gameplay components :)

In certain situations ofc it does.


But in many other situations, normal ammo does the job just as well.

Is there any point in treating randoms as competitive gameplay anyway?

Maybe you can consider it as qualification to get in a good clan, after which clanwars are competitive and full prammo loadout?

I wouldn't know, it's just a suggestion, but playing randoms too seriously seems a waste of effort to me.

The RNG decides, no matter what you shoot

The RNG has decided before you even click that mouse button


So don't rely on it, but sometimes you can use it

it compensates for WG completely messing up the balancing of tanks.

If it compensates for skill? in general no...


In most tanks a guy still has to know where to shot to penetrate even with gold... it can happen that many new players with premium accounts spamm gold because they struggle to penetrate some tanks due to their lack of knowledge and manage to do it...  but still they will many times miss and bounce.

Whats the real problem about gold rounds:


- World of tanks is based in classes, every class have its down features, a medium is in general the most balanced not having great features of anything, but good in general... while the other classes are more like trade of extremes, TD's exchange normaly great extremes of something for other mediocre features, normaly the gun alpha damage or camouflage for no armor or in other cases great armor for lack of mobility or a turret... 


Then you have heavies, who have great alpha and normaly great armor but no great mobility or gun handling and this when gold rounds start to messing with the balance of the tank...


 what is most anoying about gold spamming is when the meta becomes using mobile tanks with great gun handling and dpm (mediums) to just destroy easily heavy tanks because the armor becomes innefective vs gold rounds...


WG tryed to fix this issues in a terrible way, by introducing powercreeps... from tier VIII to tier X  which was worse for the game... you don't fight the stupid meta by introducing power creeps like defenders, type 5's bobjects etc etc but again, they are selling gold...its their business... so in a way we cannot say they didn't made it on purpose...


But from a game play standpoint, they basicaly dumbdown the gameplay logic, in favour of gold spamming meta, and now in the beggining of the year they announced a gold rounds nerf for 2019, where they will cut 25% of the gold rounds alpha damage something that have been discussed and asked many times, but also contested by many who like how the game works. 


What is skill? skill is all about decisions and knowledge. your cappability to decide what to do with your tank, and if you can penetrate or not a certain tank...

because staying in a safe position just loading gold and wreaking other tanks, may be excelent for statistics but doesn't show exactly a superior level of inteligence or skill, 


Medium tanks are not supposed to penetrate heavy tanks frontaly, end of story... it should not happen, i know the medium players will complain about this, but they have better dpm, better mobility and gun handling, the heavy in most cases have bad mobility, bad gun handling and the armor and alpha is their only strong features. 


I consider heavies the hardest class to play(sucesfully) in this game , to win and have influence in a battle your decisions and positioning are extremely important, not only because you need to counter other heavies but you need to:


- Avoid arty (which you can't)

- Avoid lines of fire from td's

- avoid being out numbered by other heavies or mediums

- your slow, and its way more harder to not overcommit in a heavy tank

- in most cases your fighting only with decent alpha damage and mediocre armor, because people load gold on your armor and bye bye armor!


All this combined, makes the heavy tank class in my opinion the hardest to play.. and its by far the class that more suffers from the gold spamming meta...and this is big part of the gold spamming problem, it distorts the role of the heavy class... everything else, is meaningless, because, skilled players if they are spamming gold, if they really wanted, they could pentrate frontal weakspots anyway but sometimes they have no patience or time... so they just load gold and do it quickly, which is different from people that play JPz E100 with gold because they like to penetrate russian tanks turrets...
