Oh yeah, Luchs is OP, especially during that 17s helpless reload.

This post impersonates the good part of wargaming never listening to the playerbase, at least we can all be sure luchs will stay the same

just imagine the agony of the Tier VI tank that when see's the OP Luchs thinks

"jez he is gona take me... here he comes, he can pen my front...oh my god, oh my god"

(and then wait 17 seconds, and repeat the agony again 2 or 3 times till he is dead)... No wonder the OP is so stressed about it

I mean... really?

Probabily in the whole ger tech tree only the 10% of the tanks are worth playing and the luchs is one of that 10%, and there are slowbobs that want a nerf?

After 20k how bad can you be to dont know how to counter a luchs?

ELC and Luchs were two of my favourite light tanks. A bit of zoom-zoom boom-boom is stress free and satisfying.

Then WG castrated the poor old ELC and I've not played it once since. But the Luchs is always pure fun to play, which is really rare these days if we are honest.

I guess I should take mine out for a spin and blow out the cobwebs. Luchs coped perfectly well with the old harsher MM it used to get but to nerf it now would very likely ruin it's uniqueness.

I've seen enough Luchs in flames to see that it is not OP for most players.

Like all highly mobile tanks, they can get good players out of trouble fast and can get average and poor players into trouble fast.

I think the main reasoning would be: "nerf the competent and unicum players"

He's pretty bad for a long while. I used to play with him, and his noobness infected me,and it took long to clear out.

Just to add / ask...

I run the non-auto-loader.

Thoughts?

I love the Luchs, and I'm a sucker for German tanks. Nonetheless, I think it is fair to say that this thing is a wee bit overpowered. But then, perhaps that's what it needs, because truth be told, as soon as your reach Tier VI, German light tanks are more or less useless crap, culminating in the hapless Rheinmetall Panzerwagen. Afaik that thing has the lowest winrate of all Tier X tanks, so there.

This tank is seriously OP, fast and the gun can pen tier 7s fronally, on top tier its insanely powerful

But sometimes even 14mm of armor manage to bounce 98mm penetration.

http://wotreplays.eu.../3009894#stats  I admit this doesn't happen all that often but it did happen.

(that player had probably auto aim on and at point blank most of his shots managed to hit my engine deck at an auto bounce angle)

RNGesus surely smiled at me in that match. Praise to his random body!

The autocannon is what makes the Luchs so much fun.

Without the autocannon the Luchs is just another light tank.

Try the autocannon for 50 battles and see what you think.

Any new/ish player who can master the Luchs-autocannon playstyle is on the right path to competent play at higher tiers.

Only my personal opinion of course.

Thnaks for teh input, Woolfie. I should have said, I used to run with auto-cannon, but changed due to the slightly "limited" role that Luchs has to employ. Agree - MUCH more fun scooting about like a lunatic, possibly penning, then scurrying away to reload. But I believe DPM is more and can take more unspotted shots taht are likely to (a little bit) of damage.

I suppose it's choice of playstyle, but I asked because I can't remember the last time that I saw Luchs without autocannon....

Make it tier 5 and reduce the pen of its top gun

Luchs also has crap gun handling, gun only starts to behave properly on Leopard, on Luchs it feels more like a shotgun :)

Surprise! Tier 4 is full of surprisingly potent tanks. You've just discovered Luchs, wait till you discover the rest...

Yep, almost a pity that the Leopard is then the last tank in that line to be able to mount the 3cm MK. If only they'd given that gun as an option for the VK 28.01 when they removed the derpgun... :(

The reason it's good is the camo of the light tank while having very nice view range for it's tier.

... Yeah, that's why Luchs's good. Cmon be real here.

I agree with Luch should be nerfed ,but at same time tier 10 Should Rhm Pzw need heavy buff , so people start play High tier german  Light tanks instead
