Whatever happened to this? Sounded like a much better metric than Wn8 as it rates assisted damage.

You should probably ask the people behind it, check www.UnofficialMadeUpMetricsAreTheBestMetrics.com.

Why the sarcasm? Scoring has been an integral part of computer games since they started. I remember trying to get onto the top 10 list on Asteroids, so it's a very legitimate part of gaming. The WoT personal rating isn't easily available.

I always thought the Wn8 metric flawed as it didn't incorporate assisted damage, though I understand why it didn't, so I was looking forward to Wn9.

His wn8 answers everything.

He sucks therefore statistics dont matter and good players are nolifers. Ofcourse.

Who cares about WNx. Just improve your winrate and all WNx metrics will go up as well.

IIRC there were still problems with getting assisted damage in the WN9 calculations. And the end result wasn't that much different from WN8.

Also, it turned out WN9 made super unicums rerolls still into super unicums, if they played like super unicums. Because they are super unicums. Which made people angry :hiding:

It's what I do in lieu of developing a personality.

Agreed but that doesn't change the unofficial nature of the score you're talking about.

Assisted damage isn't available from the APIs used to extract battle results, hence WN8 trying to accommodate assists by artificially inflating the values for damage caused in light tanks ... which gave us light tank gameplay used for stat-padding.

As far as I know WG doesn't have any plans to include assist damage, so WN9 is at best an academic exercise in what could be presented should things change. Which would be why it never went anywhere.

This is the 100% guaranteed method in getting frustrated with WoT.

It's much better and stress free to improve own personal WN8. WIn rate will go up as a result also, because damage and kills usually win games.

You're referring to that thing called efficiency? Or wn7?

Honestly if they fix the spotting mechanics it'd be wonderful to set my thing back to them, even play scouts more often. But you can change to wn7 through the XVM webpage or other modpacks.

Except I didn't say stats don't matter or that good players are no-lifers, those are things you've introduced to the discussion, presumably because deep down you worry that's what people think when they see your numbers so you're getting your retaliation in first. The problem with that (well, one of the problems) is that you're highlighting how empty the rest of your life is because those numbers mean so much to you, so in effect you're reinforcing the no-lifer image you're so adamant is implied by my post.

Try going outside and meeting other people. They're not as scary as you think and some of them might even talk to you. :great:
