so why didn't the Brit line get the AVRE Petard, to rival the KV-2 with its arty gun?
another thing, why is the Brit Arty line so crap compared to every other Arty equipped nation? what is the point of arty that has to be in enemy view range to be able to fire on them, no other arty has to be within 500M of the enemy to fire at them?

During the liberation of 's-Hertogenbosch over here (oktober 1944), a Churchill Crocodile was ordered forward to the Wilhelminaplein (just south of the train station) to deal with a German machine gun nest on the other side of a bridge. The people giving that order neglected to mention there were two bridges there, though. The Churchill arrived, and in full view of the Germans turned its' side towards them, put an HE shell into a building across the wrong bridge immediately followed up by a prolonged jet of fire from the flame thrower.
Anecdote has it the machine gun nest had surrendered before a British NCO managed to run up to the tank to point them the right way.
So remember kids: lack of map knowledge saves lives! ![]()

Ravaging peasants whos tracks are destroyed, in close proximity. Also HT campers on red-line.

Exactly this.
See, we're adding fun mechanics and squashing problems without even knowing it ![]()

Nice that WG salute Hobart and the funnies.
Just as an idea the funnies could be used ingame for a special mode such as the chaffee racing or the football, or the first world war one with the Rolls Royce armoured cars.
Imagine the team of allies has to land, get rid of the mines, fill the gaps, bridge the ravines, and finally deal with an enemy Sturmpanzer (which lots of players also ask for).
It would take a fair degree of work for a two or three week mode, but WG would get a lot of player goodwill from it.

Hi! I think the main reason is the fact we did not really involve special vehicles into the game. Also, AVRE petard mortar had an awfully short range and not best accuracy as it was used to demolish bunkers and field fortifications that usually aren`t very mobile.
As for SPG - you are right, but in return you get a shell trajectory that enables you to hit targets that are hidden from, for example, German SPGs.

put the crocodile in the game as a tier 3 troll tank
If we ever added flamethrower tanks then yes, Crocodile would make a lot of sense but I think it would fit on a higher tier.

I think they would indeed be GREAT for a special mode. For example one where you need to cooperate to be able to actually get through obstacles on the map to be able to shoot the enemy.

WG,
Please, please hire a proofreader that's fluent in English. It _cannot_ be that expensive. Heck, I'd do it for 10 euro an hour...

So a Churchill AVRE does not get into the game because it is a mobile bunker buster, but the KV 2 wich is also a mobile bunker buster gets into the game. While the KV 2 was also not the best tank in the world. It could hardly turn its turret if it was not on level ground and it was unreliabel and slow (oke the Churchill was also slow but at least reliabel)
