The new map for the Front Line mode, currently under the working name of “wg_epic_suburbia”, will go to internal tests at any moment. The rules look familiar: six zones (bases) for defense or capture, and five large guns (main targets) that the attacker must destroy.

The new map has a winter character and resembles the post-war suburbs of the city in Central Europe. The map offers the opportunity to fight in open areas, in a small town, among the ruins of an old castle, in a power plant, a quarry, between bunkers and many other objects.

  • The first line of defense consists mainly of blocks, several open roads and approaches. Expect fighting at medium and close distance.
  • The second line of defense has a less urban character, offering considerable terrain on the flanks, suitable for fast, bold maneuvers aimed at quickly taking the best tactical positions. The power station in the middle is a real redoubt, one of the most densely built-up parts of the map.
  • The last line, the one where the targets are located, has a mixed landscape with different types of terrain. There are bunkers here, so it’s great: some are so big that you can drive them to maneuver enemies or force them to fight inside.

So the work on the map continues so its appearance is not final yet – but be sure that it is really a new map for Front Line mode, a mode that you like so much.

So a more brawling focused map? I like that. On the first map meds are king with all the open areas, here the heavies might be able to poke out from behind their rock and actually advance without getting crossfired and artied into oblivion.

it will be interesting to try it on the test server, if I am not mistaken this future map has not yet entered the closed test of the wg and therefore I do not think we will see it immediately in game, perhaps after the summer

However it looks like an interesting map

Hope not, we have enough brawling maps in the game, Frontline doesn't need to cursed with it as well, heavies dominate the meta and Frontlines is breath of fresh air where mediums and lights can actually work.

Hope they put this in soon because I basically stopped playing Frontline because it becomes so boring playing the same map over and over.

Any new map is good news, even if it doesn't fit my style. Now once they have more then you can start being annoyed with a certain map.

just look at the minimap, which will confirm the nature of the map and will have many open areas [base A-B-C-F and targets 1-2]

better to play the FL mod always on the same map, we asked the wg to give us a second map for FL, and I think I was among the first to forcefully ask them about this forum .. at least they listen to us .. or so it seems

i dont think it is a brawling map, maybe E due to some narrow passages, but other than that it looks promising i think.

and still better to have a new map for FL, even with some design flaws(which should be expected), than to constantly play the same map over and over again

Ah yes, that's why:

- Most streamers don't touch heavies with a 1 foot pole;

- Most good players spam only USSR mediums and light tanks, with a notable exception: wheeled vehicles, which seem to have become their favorites;

- Ranked battles have fast tanks as top performers

Now players will have to remember two different places to go every time, except the fast tanks which will have to rush past different scenery.

It's almost as if playing heavies is boring for such players.

They should make a 1945 Berlin map for frontline, with obviously the objectives being the Fuhrerbunka
