Medium - 430U or UDES line for armor and alpha, Patton line for accuracy.

Heavy - IS7 line, period.

With 25k battles I’m sure you know the German line is not an easy one.

Russian heavy line is probably easiest to start with.

Would say that Type5 line still is quite forgiving line. Tier 9 and 10 don't have the P2W derp anymore, but once at those level your friend should already have some ideas on how armour works, especially if he has used both the 150mm and 105mm guns.

I'd say that the 430 line is a lot more foolproof. The UDES line doesn't get armour until t9

Japanese Heavies are the ultimate in crayon technology. Tier5-10 are all very very strong and forgiving, pretty much idiot proof so long as you point the thing at the enemy. No other nation or line can offer that spectrum of frontal strength for all those tiers. All the front of Japanese tanks are strong and imo tier for tier stronger than any other nation, so long as you just keep it pointed at the enemy whereas other nations have leaky front hulls, lower plates, upper plates, overmatch roof on a really low tank etc, they're not fool proof by comparison. Forget mediums, while some are stronger and more forgiving than other mediums, all mediums need a certain level of experience and are not fool proof.

I think they are better at *crushing* crayons and other simpletons. While soviet bobmobiles can give hard time even when put against people who know what they're doing. Can't beat magic blackhole armour.

I am stuck to the M44 (addicted), I just can't decide to push the crew and play the M12 I already bought ;)

About the question I would say that the 277 line is good too.

The Jap heavy line or any arty line is as foolproof as it gets.

I have ever recruited two players and after discussing their preferences they've started either IS-7 or the Soviet medium line heading towards T-44. Good thing about those lines is that they don't have that much "rotten apples" and have actually quite a bit of keeper tanks you can stop for a while and learn the game if you want.

If your friends are willing to learn the game mechanics the hard way, like to be challenged and can deal with a bit of frustration they can go for wichever line they want.

When I started 2 years ago the first tank I played a lot was the Pz 38nA, wich ultimately lead to me going up the german LT line first. Granted, it took me about 18 months to actually reach tier 10, but I learned much along the way (except for angling my armor and sidescraping, but I'm working on that now) and somehow every other line I started is like easy mode to me. Funny how that works.

:honoring:

On topic: I recently ground my way to the Cent AX and found the british meds very enjoyable, with the Cent 7/1 being the absolute highlight of the line. They're not as forgiving as some russian tanks might be, but I'd still recommend them. Even over the german lights, wich I love dearly.

If he is new he should not rush tiers (take it from someone who was excellent with this)  :hiding:

Therefore:

1. Heavy - IS3 (eventually IS-7)

2. Medium - T44 (eventually 430U)
