Please be informed that micropatch 1.5.1_2 will be deployed on World of Tanks Asia periphery servers with approximately 45 minutes' downtime on 18 June, 2019, 05:00 UTC+8. The game and clan portal will be unavailable during this time.

 

Patch Notes

  • Issue fixed: Vehicle markers no longer shift in the opposite direction of camera movement.
  • Issue fixed: Recon Flight combat reserve in Frontline no longer continues spotting enemies beyond the Spotting Duration. It occurred in cases where player's vehicle was destroyed while the Reserve was active.
  • Technical cooldown of respawn that was reduced to 10s reverted to 30 seconds as it was in the previous episode. [Updated on 18/6/2019]

On EU micropatches are posted on the support portal. It appeared there last night.

What is the reason behind this: „Technical cooldown of respawn that was reduced to 10s reverted to 30 seconds as it was in the previous episode“?! Can someone explain?

Perhaps people were getting themselves killed so fast they were spending half their games staring at the timer.

The 10 second bit didn't last very long did it?? 1 day

 

Maybe people were respawning automatically before they had tank 2 chosen

The 10s cooldown was an improvement imo.

It was not, since i had multiple games yesterday where people kept respawning in a slightly staggered fashion and dying one by one until they had no lives left, so half of the team was on a 3 minute cooldown. Absolutely nothing you can do in this situation.

If it happens on the defending side you will get overwhelmed quickly with no chance of retaliation, and if it happens on the attacking side, defenders will spawn camp and end the game early with low ranks and crap rewards.

I did notice a lack of players at more times than usual during gameplay

Don´t think that was the problem for the frontline at least, ppl is just tired of the same map and the same thing over and over again

It improved my experience of FL where the 30s cooldown is a pointless waiting period, being someone who very rarely runs out of tanks to play. Didn't really notice a lack of tanks on either side, not that I was looking for it. If players are going to get through their tanks too quick that would seem to be a problem whatever the cooldown is and you'd expect it to balance across the teams in the same way everything else does.

It's not about the number of tanks you have, but the number of "lives" or number of available respawns overall. If you only have to wait 10 seconds to respawn, people are more likely to yolo back into action and take revenge on who killed them, much like in TDM shooters. The problem is in FPS's you don't have a limited amount of respawns so you can kill yourself over and over and have a kdr of 1-19 and it doesn't matter, your team can have fun even if they have a higher chance to lose. But in wot if a couple of people suicide and run out of lives, the rest of the teammates will get outnumbered and soon the game will turn into 15-28 which creates a snowball effect resulting in unwinnable and unfun battles.

The 30s is the "fix" for the Recon issue.

If you came alive again before Recon ended it didn't end properly.
