What do you think? The amount of russian t10s, especially heavies and mediums, is ever increasing and meanwhile germany, france  and usa are left with only 2 mediums and other nato nations with only 1 and the russian heavies are half mediums aswell.

For germany and usa they could introduce the Kampfpanzer 70 with the 120mm gun which was tested in germany

I dont know about the other nations but i guess its not only the russians who had some ideas about mbts.

Their stance has been to give rifled guns to tanks that had smoothbores.

Oh yeah. Your poll is pretty tardy in relation to subject, since most early smoothbores were soviet. First up within smoothbore era would be t-62 and t-64, then t-72 and THEN MBT-70 (after they have fixed wz 132).

There's still plenty of "WWII Era" stuff that can be added without resorting to rashan napkins.

MBT-70? Oh hell no. That thing was crazy in AW, I don't want to see what abomination WG could do.

I guess they introduced it with the 152mm gun? That gun would be crazy but the 120mm gun could be reasonable.

125mm soviet smoothbore guns says hi.

No thanks. The smoothbores exclusion is to give an upper limit to how modern tanks can be. And I'm fine with that.

On that basis can we have the Chieftain, Challenger 1, & Challenger 2? as they all

use a 120mm rifled barrel.

There starts the other limitation WG self imposed. No reactive or composite armour.

That doesn't exclude the Chieftain, just the Challengers. :)

WOT: Developers Q&A

Do you know when we will be getting the Chieftain Tank?

Anton B: That depends on what Chieftain you do mean. Right now we are considering adding a Chieftain and US T95 hybrid, known as Chieftain/T95 – the product of standardization and parts interchangeability projects initiated by the UK, United States and Canada in 1957 – 1959 when both the Chieftain and T95 were still in development; but it is unlikely we will add the Chieftain Mk I any time soon.

They should make world of tanks 2 already,

Have the current tier 10 tanks at tier 1 and go into the modern tank lines.

Would be a nice change.

Smoke, ERA,  many different shells, stabilizers, get rid of rng.. etc etc

Wow, if WG's only problem is with reactive/composite armor, as well as smoothbore guns, then we can go right up to the 90s or even into the 21st century. All those modified tanks, those concepts and proposals can certainly make it into the game, no?

"get rid of rng" ?? That's one thing WG will probably never remove no matter what. Besides, RNG makes the game more unpredictable. It's up to you whether that's a good or bad thing.

They said they can't balance the Chieftain. But comparing it to the monstrosity they added as CW reward, it doesn't feel so strong...

So with the hull in use with a T95 turret, & the turret & gun in

use with a T95 hull, plus the Mk6 on the Chinese server, they

can't gather enough information to balance the Chieftain. I find

that a little hard to swallow.
