Shouldn't we be rewarded for getting reward tank? No bonus to credits. That makes them rather ordinary tanks. Even premium tanks are better. Considering amount of effort one has to put into acquiring reward tank there should be some more compensation and those tank at least should earn credits, that would make some point of playing those tanks. Right now what's the point of playing, say Stug IV ? Inferior to regular Stug III and that extra crew training will not go well with less experience earned.

Given that the whining from the premium owners would drown out Heathrow at rush hour I doubt it.

The reward is a free tank, crew and all the silver, gold and exp you get from completing the missions. Oh and the final rewards of the 260 and 279 are worth it and are definitely rewards

Don't want them? Don't do them

tbh you do most of the early missions without realising you are actually doing missions.

That's why they are called special tanks and not premium tanks, as these are also not protected from nerfs unlike premiums etc. It still get 1.5x crew XP bonus vs a Stug III. And that's not little as it's stacks with event bonuses for crews. So it's still not shabby on getting new crews up fast then for a German TD line. And the Stug IV don't face tier 7 armor. Stug III does.

I do agree that the Stug and T28HTC could be a bit better in terms of earning credits.

T55 and 260 are fine.

All this and the StuG IV is a better looking model too. :izmena:

Well a 1.2x would not hurt tbh at the least. But a tier 9 and X with bonus credits is a bit too much.

it's not a drawback. it's a tank with reward status, not premium tank status, so it gives no extra credits. nice to complain when you get something for free! free yes, because when looking at your stats you did absolute nothing for it.

Yeah, so all the rewards prior to 260 and 279 are just meant to gather dust ? Or just sell them and get garage slot ?

I like my T55A, it trains all my German med crews.

Sadly that's not really great for its winrate, but it remains a fun tank to drive. Just gief gun depression on it... :playing:

You get:

  1. crew
  2. much credits in the process
  3. premium time
  4. free tanks (reward)
  5. maybe some other extras (camo for the new campaign)

All that while playing/grinding tanks. It seems like a good deal.

my opinion is that credits are the least of StuG IV's problems. that tank just doesn't work, it's horrible, it's a tier 3 tank that got assigned to tier 5.

It's one of the few examples of the older premium tank policy - better than stock but not as good as a fully upgraded regular tank with preferential match-making to compensate. Give it the same stats as the StuG III G, remove the PMM and it'd be great.

That appears to be their sole purpose, the clan war reward tanks seem pretty good though.

I'm average, I have way more credits than I know what to do with, grinding them stopped being an issue after tier I

.yeah, premium tank policy as if they are premium, yet no credit bonus.

Premium and reward tanks both used to be called premium tanks. The distinction only came about when the Chieftain/T95 was offered to top clan players after a two-week campaign and the first players noticed that it only received reward tank credits. They started a campaign to get proper premium rewards for a tank described as a tier VIII premium and since then WG have been more careful with their descriptions.

You can still see some older references buried away in tankopedia but as everyone looks at the wiki instead, no one cares.

Source, another source.

That's a long journey for me to say, "oops, you're right, I meant reward" but I couldn't possibly concede a trivial semantic point to someone on the internet. That's against my religion or something. :bajan:

the reward you get is the tank. You get it by mostly just playing the game. That is a lot different than just pulling your credit card and buying a tank.
