When driving forward, the tank will forget to stop when W key released,

sometimes it won't turn either.

This appears to be a known bug, pressing F1 resets it so the tank stops, but the problem continues

I'm also noticing the reticle aiming circle sticking in the last aiming position, but the turret has moved,

then it flicks over to the correct position a second later. It's a bit like autoaim is locking onto a tree...

ping is fine ~20ms

three keyboards tried

PC reset

offering to the Cat God made

Anyone else seeing this?

I had this in the past (the keys sticking part). I can't remember when exactly, and I also can't remember what fixed it... Very annoying though. :sceptic:

Sorry that I don't have the answer, just wanted to ensure you that you're not crazy and there's a chance it's not just you experiencing this.

^

thanks

I can see the turret twitching in 3rd party view too

The only thing that changed tonight was re-activating battle assistant and modxvm again

...and it's just got me killed in-game   :sceptic:

I get twitching when my connection gets iffy

Reconnection usually fixes it but

providers do maintenance after 0000hrs, sometimes to 0600

Wot is very sensitive to lags since it's all server sided.
I guess you're loosing some packets from time to time wich [edited]up the game.

The ping in WoT client isn't 100% reliable always. Sometimes tanks freeze and the ping still happily says 30-50ms.

I would guess the ping meter only measures the round trip from PC to WoT server farms' load balancers.... not to actual server nodes.

Why would you install a mod for something that is available in the vanilla game?

Ping is one thing and packet loss is something else, the in-game ping meter can show you the best number possible, but you also have the little light indicator next to it which preferably should be green at all times, if it's flashing red or is solid red you got packet loss issues. However the in-game tools are far from perfect and I wouldn't rely on them for some serious troubleshooting, for that I'd use something like Pingplotter: https://eu.wargaming.net/support/en/products/wot/article/10252/

What's happening is that your client and server have issues communicating properly, lets say you press S to turn left, if that package of data ain't reaching the server you won't be turning left, likewise if you are turning left and release the S key and that package don't reach the server you will be stuck going in a circle. The quickest fix there and then tends to be to click on the key that corresponds to the direction the tank is "rampaging" at, in other words if it's stuck going left press S a couple of times and the server most likely will pick up on that after a few clicks, the long term fix however is to diagnose the connection and see where your packet-loss issues start, hopefully it's on your end and you can fix it easily, if it's on your ISP's end it can be trickier depending on the ISP, or rather depending on who you get to talk to in the their support crew.

I  might be misremembering but I vaguely recall that last time a bunch of people had similar keyboard control problems it had to do with a Discord overlay.

Sounds familiar indeed, overlays and WoT tend to go bad together regardless though and there have been plenty of people having issues with all kinds of overlays in the past.

MS has been applying a few updates/patches over the last week, this usually results in my pointer "acting" like its on the end of a 3ft rubber hose!

Because the pen reticle doesn't work on my machine for some reason?

and I reckon BA might be a bit more useful to learn with.

I reckon this was a server side issue, as last night was mostly OK, apart from a sudden 220ms ping which then went back to 20ms as usual

I got disconnected twice this week. Yesterday and another time last weekend.

Not sure if this is related.

Normally I have a rock steady connection (250Mbps) and am just 100km away from EU1
