Got to read the garbage in the "news" with my morning coffee instead of going out for a jaunt this AM

We are getting an awful lot of updates recently and I should point out to WoT that every time you update this game you will lose some players and gain zero players

Serial updating is not a good strategy

It's a lot better than no updating between major patches. What WG could do better is communicate the content of the patches and the reasons for any hot fixes but I'm happy to take the updates in the meantime.

And as have been proven with this community. Leaving issues unfixed for more than a few days is even worse. As most topics have been  "how long does it take to fix it?" when something does appear to be wrong. And when you have 3-4 issues. Do you patch each one as they are fixed? Or wait 3 weeks until they all are and go with a common patch? As the last option has not proven... popular here. So if you lose players on both options. You go with the one you lose the least on. As leaving even small issues unfixed have given many here long breaks form the game. Inc me due to bugs not getting sorted fast enough.

But... if you struggle to download and install a 15 to 50mb patch. Then you might want to look at your end. As they take 60 seconds here. As that progress bar is a two-parter. Only one of them goes on your router speed.

There will be players where the update fails

There will be players where they simply say sod it I'm not going to bother anymore

The exact same thing happens with apps

I only have 2 apps on my working mobile phone and google play keeps flipping updating one of them every 2 days

It makes me money and I make them money, it's a bit like an Uber app

The day it either gets too big for my phone memory or falls over is the day I have one app on my working phone

There will be players who don't even notice the update. I started my PC this morning, opened the WGC and the only reason I know there was an update is this thread prompted me to check.

I have a shitty pc and a download speed of about 12mbps, just pop the kettle on and make a tea whilst it sorts itself.  Or take a break from WoT, you're getting really crabby and there are enough of us like that already!

This patch was announced 26/07, thus advance notice was given.

Personally having prior knowledge of this, before taking the dogs for a walk yesterday morning, I started WGC intending to leave it whilst I walked the dogs, but it was done before I had had chance to grab the leads, etc. :)

Its a patch. Its fixing a problem. It will improve gameplay. It will take a few minutes. Has no-one got any patience any more?

I really find it incredible that people complain about modern download speeds being slow, I just went and got a drink and by the time I got back it had finished installing! But then again I remember the days of loading a game on my ZX Spectrum, so maybe its not surprising that I don't get stressed about something that takes a couple of minutes...

There. Fixed it for you. You're welcome.

Now, about your problem.

What can be causing it?

1. Your PC/Laptop.

2. Your router.

3. Your connection, WiFi or Wired.

4. Running other progs while downloading.

5. Other devices using Internet while you are downloading.

6. Your connection to ISP.

7. The route between your ISP and WG.

8. WG servers.

Now, if many players report the same problem, then the chances of the cause being 7 or 8 increases, but if everyone else is having no problems, then 1-6 are the most likely cause.

Oh yes... with me it was Grimsby Town... played so many seasons that Ian Wright came back round again after retiring. Bought him as a 19 year old and he scored a hat-trick in the European Cup Final!! Think it was the 2020/21 season!!
