You just couldn't wait to show a pic of a dogs knob.

His lipstick is sheathed.

I had to put my old friend to rest, last week.

No more huffing and puffing during heatwaves for Petter.

He had liver cancer and artritus (he needed a special diet for his liver issues but that was detrimental for his weight (which is a burden for artritus sufferers)) and it was getting from bad to worse.

But yeah, take care of your four legged friends.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. You did the right thing though for your best mate. Dogs deserve the very best care and you provided that right up to the end.

Not sure if Petter was your first but there's another dog out there ready to become your new best mate.

I always keep a few large carrots in the freezer and dish them out on hot days, all my dogs have loved them.

And splashing some cold water over their paws helps them cool down faster.

Thank you basin!

He had a very good place for his retirement. He was about to get euthanized after being in a shelter for 2 years, in Spain.

He was rescued by a Dutch vet who brings dogs which have a chance for adoption in the Netherlands to a shelter in my hometown.

Glad we picked him up.

I'm going to enjoy not having the responsibilities and care for a while though.

Keeping the bench, pillow, food/water bowls etc. for when the time is right.

Probably another rescue dog (from an animal shelter).

Do not forget your computer.

It might need extra cooling too on a hot day.

Yes, thank you for the warning, I was out in a quarry¹ all day last friday and half of saturday. :girl:

Did get massive sunburn on my arms though, still hurts. :(

¹Big hole in the ground with no shade and sun-reflective stone.

Was it worth it?

Sorta, had fun and found a somewhat rate shark tooth from millions of years ago.

Spoiler

I thought the dingers retired to their vaults to count lovely cool Gold in the hot weather.

We made an exception for Tankfest.
