Given the new MM changes and the buffs. Do you think that this tank is worth it? Or better yet is it playable or again an exp piñata?

I made the German tech tree focus on the TD and my goal is to reach the mighty Jagpanzer E100 one day. Having a training TD premium would be nice. Also since the best I have TD wise, is SU100, I need something more powerful to complete some of these TD missions.  So what are the fillings for the 8.8?

I have one on my main NA account and ...no !

In my experience occasionally it will work, most of the time it won't. To sluggish, will die fast and horribly if caught alone. Powercrept.

Years ago it was a force to be reckoned with, not so much anymore ...

Get a Skorpion, much more viable.

Good luck out there.

Last time I played the JT88 is what... 5 years ago? More? Who knows.

Either way - no. They can buff the gun all they like, doesn't fix the issue with the tank.

I know that Scorp G is the best money making tank in the game and it looks like a good machine overall. However is it compatible as a crew trainer for TD Jgpz line? Given the armor layout it looks more in line with WT Grilla line.

That is a lot of time not to fire up a tank.
I was hoping that with the limited MM and the fixes to MM it would be decent now. :(

You don't need crew trainers anymore.

Just play your best Prems and every time you earn 2 million you buy crew books.

Wow !

That is a though choice ... I'd say avoid both if you can.

But if you are a bit of a nutcase, as I am, get the Panther: it is more mobile than the Jagd and it has a turret.

I played over 600 games in each, and I still take them out once in a while; the Panther is workable.

I guess the Panther 8,8cm is what Prems used to be, a sort of half way between a fully researched vehicle of that tier and a stock one.

Still feels bad to see the Panther 8.8cm is barely better than a Panther I from T7 but I digress.

Since this is the noob part of the forum, I'd recommend against turretless tanks. They can be quite tricky to use properly and I still shy away from them. Likely other stuff out there that's better than the Jagtiger...

Wait for a test server and go try it out.

I know I'd hate it, because I tend to dislike tanks without a turret with very limited few exceptions (TS-5, Stug lll... can't think of any other) but that doesn't mean you would, if you otherwise like that kind of gameplay.

I will most likely hate it because I don't like DPM machines. I like to send you a shell that is being fired from an inaccurate gun and deals 900dmg minimum. Death by thousand cuts is not my playstyle in most games. However I will most likely just skip it and buy occasional skill book.

No, the Skorpion is not a good crew trainer for JPz since it has a 4 man crew and the commander is the loader. JPz's have 6 man crew with 2 loaders.

And no, the JPz 8.8 is not decent to say the least. It does have armor (frontally) and it does have DPM, but it is slow and cumbersome, it has sub-par penetration and because it has thin sides and top it is vulnerable of being flanked. Arty magnet. Also, as with most German high armor vehicles the armor is totally flat and easilly penetrated by HEAT. The JPz line including the JPz 8.8 is not a beginners friendly tank.

Also Scorp G isn't bad as you only need to land 3 shots that all do full damage to do "okay" in a game

The best part of the tank is the space for 6 crew members and it can help a lot of crews from different tds.

In the current game it would be worth it only for 20,00 euros +/-

Now it's near at the "scam".

You know a tank is bad when someone with its username doesn't recommend it...

"Bad" it's a big word :)

Let's watch the tank, only this tank as it is.
It's a casemate vehicle that come when the german line had only the "jagd" tonks, so it's consistent with the techtree and it can help to learn some about the line: hulldown, some little ss, some armor, keep the gun firing, it has 6 crew members that can be usefull 'till the tier X vehicles, it's a premium, the ammo cost is very low, it has a pref MM.
Looks like a great vehicle to me.
Now put it in the current game: hulldown/ss is completely irrilevant (goldspam and pref mm completely non-existent), the gun is still ok, but alpha compared to pratically any other t8 tank is a joke, "premium" lost is value since powercreeped by other tanks and goldspam has become almost mandatory, the most "pref MM" you could find it's a monotier 8, and it's slow brick.
I can pass over some "bad" things but the biggest enemy of this tank it's the MM.

:D

P.S- to all others thank you for your inputs. I will stay away from this tank. I will just buy Crew Booklets from now on for my German TDS. :)
