I'll be frank, I'm crap at this game.  But I do have half a dozen tier IX that I could bump up to tier X.

Would this be delusional on my part, or would I be better off just clubbing at tier 3?

Feel free to be brutally honest.

You should ask yourselves: is tier X worthy of you

If you like a particular tier 10 tank and are able to perform well in it then sure.

If you earn enough credits for repair, or you have premium acc..WHY THE FAK NOT. Most people here will tell you how bad you are and what you should or not to do, but they forget that this is a PC GAME and that man made GAMES for fun. So mate why not, because you are bad gamer, to not have fun, not to try? For fear of judgement?

considering you have a real low ammount of games in tier 9 with mediocre stats so far you would be better off playing tier 9 way more(for example 1k games+), learn how higher tiers are gameplay wise, boost average dmg up and then move to tier x. doubt tier x would be a enjoyable experience for you currently, also credit wise as tier x is even less profitable than tier 9 while quite bunch tier x are not much better than their t9 counterparts tier for tier. but it is still your account and your choice what to do

edit; looking at your mauschen being your best played tier 9 you might be best off grinding maus first as that seems to fit your playstyle most

To be completely honest, I don't see any point of having tier X vehicles (unless you need those vehicles for CW's and similar stuff).

Not a single tier X tank in my garage because I'm not interested in the final tier.

Tier X battles are just about Premium ammo spamming and nothing more.

If you want to waste your credits really fast then have fun.

But it's just my personal opinion.

You can do whatever you want.

If you really want and interested to move up the final tier - good luck.

Maybe this advice also, someone said that you play tier 9 more, so my advice is that you research all tier 10 at least, so that your tier 9 become elite.

Tier X are useful for clan wars.

Tier IX is actually an excellent tier (+1/-2 mm) and some of the tanks there are very well balanced. I would suggest collect a wide variety of tier IXs. Pick a favourite once you have had at least 100 battles in a number of tier IX's and then you will have winnowed out the ones that do not suit you whilst perfecting the game play of the ones that do suit you in preparation for buying a tier X.

Also you have a KV-4. Platoon with UrQuan (he's in TDU and the king of the KV-4) and watch how he plays his, and grind to an ST-I which should also suit you.

Before that why not understand game mechanics, positions, tank strengths and weakness watching a good streamer that can make you understand what and why(ex: skill4ltu).. anyone can improve

I've got a variety of tier X vehicles. Even though I can play very well most of the time at tier9, I still struggle a lot in most of my tier X tanks. But the worst part is, the game gets very competitive and serious at tier X and I'm not sure it's my cup of tea in this game. I like to try stuff and have fun. I'd love to like the tactical superiority aspect, but honestly I just don't.

Over time I learned that I was not quite good enough for tier X. I aimed to get there because you've got to try anyway,

I've owned four and kept two. The four are IS-7, Grille 15, Bat Chat 25t and Object 268.

After 700 battles in the Object 704- and failing to attain a 50% WR- I sold it and tried the (buffed) Object 268. Then I sold that. I put the crew into the second TD line.

I was useless in the Batmobile. I recently sold that to try the AMX 30 instead. It keeps winning, but I'm rubbish in it.

I've kept the other two but I'm seriously considering selling the Grille 15, although I'm not sure where the excellent female crew will go. Possibly the JT.

I've got the AMX 13 105 and E50M researched, but I've no intention of buying either one. Other than that, I'm not looking to specifically buy/research any tier X.

My only reason for trying to reach higher tiers is missions. A greater HP pool and bigger guns makes missions easier- if you can handle the tanks.

I've not done terribly in tier IX, but X is not for me. I would say that a quick look at your stats would suggest that you are in a similar position to me.

The question is whether you want to give tier X a try, and are you happy to fund your tier X fun with low-tier play? (which you obviously are)

You can spend as long as you like practising and studying gameplay but the only way you'll know if you're ready for tier 10 battles is to play a few. You can always go back to the lower tiers and continue learning from streams and videos but the gameplay is different enough in lower tiers to make them a primer, not an outright guide.

Just my sixpence. Play what you like. You'll need to play tier 10 to know if you like it. Pick one you think you'll like and go with it.

My personal experience is that tier 9 is the better tier but I have tier 10 tanks. I just rarely play them.

Furthermore, there are some really poor players at tier 10, just as they are at 9 and 8 and all the tiers leading up to it. It's a game. Go forth and enjoy!

Tier ten can be very punishing if you do not do well tier 8 and over as the game changes alot ..(Broad guess but mabye 30-50%)...the jump 8 - 10 is massive gameplay-wise..

Tier 9 and above is alot more positional and the slightest mistakes you make will be punished due to alot of good players being able to exploit not only V/R and HP but also the map ..and teamplay/Map awareness becomes

a massive factor also..

..If you cannot do the same and at least to have a bit of counter to their play in all of the above mentioned you will be regularly punished..(As i have been )

If you want you learn better positions and learn from the better players but lose vast amount of credits then go for it......The long term result is you will learn and become more aware of your limitations in this game..

Ps ..Tier 9 is the sweetspot in this game so no need to venture any further.

I also say go for it.

but not all at once. E100 is still a classic, but quite costly due to HEAT :)

I have the T57 Heavy, BC 25t and Object 140.

I could also buy the Progetto 65 and Super Conqueror too.

Barely play T10 however as I'm still grinding and stockpiling my credits, one day I will however....

If you're undecided, buy one, wait for the next episode of ranked battles and then play like a muppet....you'll be indistinguishable from most of the other players in that mode.

Don't waste freeExp to skip a grind to tier 10, freeExp for modules okay, but not on the grind to unlock the next tank. That said, if you have a tier 9 "elited", then why not?! After seven years, plenty of bad and worse players have made it to tier 10, you will be better than many. Some people say tier 10 is different, others it's all the same with different tanks.

Just a little warning, if you decide to go for the Maus, be warned, if you thought the Mäuschen is a gold magnet, you ain't seen nothing yet!
