I find that most people who drown do it intentionally with a view to deny the enemy their hitpoints and kill.

A way to counter this, and this is already in the game, is with a minor tweak.

You know you can still shoot and effectively kill them when they drown and I do when the situation arises. This causes extra repair bills for the drownee. What WG needs to do it allow the HP/Kill of the drowned vehicle be counted towards your total as it would in the normal game and there would be less of an issue. Of course, it does not counter those who blow themselves up intentionally or drop of cliffs but it's a start.

Simple yet effective.

Maybe you might change your opinion if lets say you are on a difficult PM lv15 mission like "Do 6k dmg and kill 5 tanks and survive" or "Do 8k dmg" and find yourself only needing to kill one of the two remaining tanks or just make 1 more shot while sitting on 7,900 dmg to complete that mission only they decide to drown themselves, robbing you of that PM tank and female crew member etc.

There's nothing to be done about drowners, cliff divers or those that blow themselves up with HE against walls etc so... just get on with your game and let it happen, care not.

Getting denied a whole 500HP of damage? That must make the grind unbearable...

personally I like getting that 30 seconds of game time back that our scout spends chasing them down.

Meanwhile any tank tank could jump off a cliff if it felt like it

You can still shoot them but I thought they already get maximum repair bill for everything anyway. All you are effectively doing is spamming your credits into the water. It costs them no more.

I am happy to be corrected of course but that's the thing with hearsay I guess.

If they didn't get a WG warning for desertion, they'd probably abandon the battle and carry on another fight anyway leaving you to get the hp/kill but I guess you can't have it all, eh?

I drowned yesterday. In arty from all classes! Was not intentional, was having a very nice game and our team was winning.

So, there you go.

Afaik the dmg done to the suicided tank doesn't count for anything.

Easy fix to this and its all in the maps.

1 All water is deep enough to kill the engine but not the tank "ok this might need a tank mod too"

So they drive in and are just stuck crew still alive they can even fire but not move.

2 Similar thing with cliffs you try to drive off a cliff and get stuck on a rock.

It's the XVM "lost" muppets who drown themselves straight after the countdown that need frowning at and maybe a kick in the nads.

Whoops, there goes another WoT player. We think it's intentional though, so let's do nothing!

The truly sad thing about that Baywatch link, was that from some weird sense of nostalgia, I actually watched that YouTube clip, and not only that, actually sang along with the lyrics.

Someone shoot me...

On a serious note; can someone explain to me why the frickin' beach lifeguards have access to a helicopter?

Warning! Sometimes a drowning arty can cop you for an hour ban, I accidentally shoved an arty off a cliff in Cliff, and got banned! :amazed::girl:
