So, I played on my friends account on PS4 (to try it out) and I noticed that Object 268 has alpha damage of 850 not 750 like on the PC version.

This made mi think. This is a good idea. It will make the tank special with 850 alpha and might make it better and more intersting to play.

What do you think?

It was 850 alpha here too back in the day. But it was nerfed to 750 on all those high alpha guns. Inc the Foch 155 that had a bigger burst damage due to the 850. Console still has the WT auf E100. That don't mean it's a good idea to take it back either. They decide on their own if they want to nerf or remove stuff like PC do.

Obj 268 is kinda crap. 850 alpha on the 268 would persuade me to buy it but at the moment the 704 is more fun to play.

So, no.

The TD alpha nerf always struck me as a little odd.

<WG> 850 alpha is way too much, nerf to 750!

<TDs with 155mm guns> *cries in corner*

Actually, this is a good idea; one of the reasons all 150-155mm td guns had their alpha equally nerfed was so that these calibers were all in line with one another. However, as we 've seen in recently implemented tanks, same caliber doesn't equal same alpha, eg.:

  • E50M-390dmg
  • STB-1-360dmg
  • Progetto-360dmg
  • Grille15-750dmg
  • Ob.268 v4-650dmg
  • Ob.430-390dmg
  • Ob.430U-440dmg

*calibers:

105mm

~150-155mm

122mm

Also, considering the fact that ob.268 is a pretty average td(though, I did enjoy its 395pen HEAT shell), I think one of its parameters that should be buffed is the alpha dmg.

Generally I don't know if having more tanks with alpha damage above 750 is a good idea, but if there's one tank that I'd allow it, it's the 268.

The very supposed gimmick of the line is the alpha damage, yet the 268's alpha damage is anything but special. The 268 isn't exactly terrible from what I know, it's just that it's very generic and has no real unique appeal to it. 850 alpha with appropriate nerfs to reload would fit the theme of the line more.

very much agree to this, It would also make the line more appealing, thus more customers!

if I remember correctly, the tank with its 750 alpha has around 14.4 seconds of reload right? What if it were say, 16 or even 17 seconds of reload?

The problem is that heavy tanks have gotten higher alpha. 60TP and E100 have 750, obj705A have 650. Why should you choose the obj 268 without a turret and paper armor over these? The extra penetration is not worth it.

Takes him about a day to get banned again once he can use the forum. So don't expect to see post from him soon. Tho his like usually says enough.

It's based on tier more so then caliber. 105 on tier 7/8 differs vs 105 on 9/X. But the Progetto had 390 early on iirc on ST. But due to the burst damage it was toned down to 360.  As alpha can be used as a means for balance sure. 430U would not be worse off with 390 to name one. But if the 268 4 had 750 or 850 on his 152mm. I suspect it would be more broken then it already is.

I did not think much of if when they did the 850 alpha nerf. But it make the think when they did the Type 5 HE nerf, and let the 183 slide.
