Teamdamage disabled? Disable also the normal damage!

Poll: Disable damaging the enemy (91 members have cast votes)

Disabling the damage by enemy. Is it a good idea?

WG has just announced to disable friendly fire, because ff causes too much stress to the players.

It is a very progressive action, but why stop there? Be more progressive!

Getting hit, damaged and killed by enemy is also a stressful experience.

Why do not we get rid of this toxic damage mechanic?

No one could damage you, no one could kill you. (Not even the enemy).

The game will be more relaxed. The game will be more fun. People will stop camping!!!!

 

Instead of damaging/killing the enemy players will collect score for the hits.

At the end of the game the team with more score will win.

This is retarded, WG.

 

So when I see a Type 5 heavy, driven by a 2k tomato, sitting behind a rock near our arty, I can't give him a little 'love tap' to help him spring into life? If you want to reduce toxicity look at the cause, not the way people express their frustration!

 

Also, aside from that...  Arty players won't even bother holding fire when two tanks are brawling nose-to-nose. It'll be endless stuns, because let's face it, they have no penalty for lobbing shells into the middle of a heavy brawl, right? Great one.

 

What next? When an arty player dies he respawns in human form with a RPG and runs around like in CoD... *shaking head in despair*

You obviously havent even watched the video or read the developer details about changing this mechanic. Because if you had you would know the answers to your questions.

Stunning allies will count towards teamdamage and will turn arty blue. They said so in the teamdamage removal video, listen carefully around 3:16.

I'm sorry, but as a member of the WoT community, I reserve the right to react like a spoiled child without listening to anything. I don't read instructions for DIY either :P

 

On a serious note, well spotted, but the video that WG released contradicts it. In that video they show an arty lobbing a shot into a brawl between heavy tanks. Though, maybe, I misunderstood.

It's an animated example of what they're discussing so that the millions of players who've never witnessed it first-hand can see what they mean. There's an alternate version of the video produced for the forum with a monkey that holds up a card saying, "ARTY BAD" and then flings its poop around for five minutes.

So, the idiots who like to spray shots about at the start of the game will now be encouraged...they can do it without penalty. However, you will still register the hits, which is distracting, annoying and sometimes confusing.

People will be shooting anybody they think needs a "reminder" that they are not doing what they want...lights who are not scouting enough , TDs who are in cover, friendly art for being art, you name it. This is going to be very distracting.

The careless will be encouraged to just blat off shots in the general direction of the enemy, regardless of friends.

Expect your smaller tanks to be shoved arround by the big and stupid even more....

And then you get the real tossers, who think it is a laugh to just mess the team up...they normally just get executed after a few minutes, but now there is going to be NOTHING you can do: does WG think that will reduce their numbers, because I certainly dont.

But the main problem to me is it moves the game even futher away towards the cartoon end of the games market...SuperMarioCartWorld of Tanks...

Enemy damage off.

Friendly damage on.

Winning team is the one that's wiped out the quickest, and yes that means the final player on each team will have to find the quickest way to suicide if he didn't kill himself by ramming the second-last survivor to death.

No biggie, my facepalm was directed towards WG due to a kids racing game with imaginary weapons having friendly fire, but a game with tanks and shells does not. :)

 

Edit: Okay, Mario Kart has shells as projectiles but they are of the fantasy variety.

Your arguments make exactly as much sense as Wargaming's do for removing team damage.

 

And it happens so often, you see someone shoot a red tank, and the red tank shoots back.  Before you know where you are one team is down three players!
