What is it with this RNG that makes Lowes lower armour impenetrable even at point blank range? Or is the 110 top gun just pure rubbish?

Would help to know which tank you were shooting at and, preferably, post a replay.

At point blank range you're firing downwards into it which increases it's effective armour value.

I mean, I understood it as he was in a 110 Shooting at a Lowe's lower plate?

Still, yeah, replay is always nice.

I missed that part completely. :teethhappy:

@OP Lowe's frontal hull armour can be trollish. It depends on where you shot exactly - if it was the mid-lower-plate, you should have penned. If it was the top of the LFP, aka. the mid-plate, that is 225 nominal. The lowest part of the LFP is practically unpennable unless you are shooting up at it with the 110's gun.

It completely depends where you hit, RNG isn't really a factor here most likely. Though, let the replay prove me wrong...

Wouldn't have been MY Lowe

Your shot would have gone in like butter

It would have damaged my ammo rack, engine, set me on fire, somehow damage my view ports and kill 3 crew members.

It might bounce if you hit too Lowe.

Puns aside I just checked the model vs the 110's gun. If you hit the Lowe's pretty broad LFP you ought to pen every time. If you hit the strip below it, the impact angle will cause you to bounce, and the same if you hit the small angled strip above it. Penetrating the LFP isn't just a matter of "hitting below the UFP", you actually need to hit the right spot.

OP got balanzed

RNG is exactly that, sometimes freaky things happen... Like when i fire at a fleeing LT and somehow the shot bounces off the rear of the tank and not the track.

it was just a rant all. I've been playing tank of the month for the last few months and the 110 is yet another worst of the worst far as I play it. Penned by everything, even tier 6s, whilst wildly misses or fails to pen and do damage. The 2 x Lowe in different games that I fire a couple of shots at both get zero damage from my shots was the last straw before the need to vent. Add being on the losing side all day, I feel cursed by WG!

Shoot a Lowe at the right (wrong?) place & even a JPE-100 HEAT shell can't penetrate it.

Case in point:

Issue is that the 110 tank is a rather low profile tank compared to the Lowe & hence can have trouble shooting the LFP at good angles at close range (keepin mind that there's a rather tough midlplate separating the UFP & LFP). UFP & turretface is out as well in your 110. Best bet would be the turretring part (the small part between gun mantlet & hull) as that armor part is rather weak & tends to be easier to hit close up.

In short; Lowe armor is pretty good frontally for a T8 tank, but it is one of the few armored tanks that still has a weakspot left (turret armorplate between gun mantlet & hull)
