Hi boys and girls, i have question for you.

I don't get how marks of excellence work.

1) In fact, when after the first battle with a new tank, my marks of excellence indicator usually says that i'm doing better than 1-2percent of the players. how is it possible?

2)Also i noticed that if i had a bad game around the 68-69th battle, the moe percentage would drop. how?

3) Why is it impossible, playing tanks like obj 279e or chimera ,to achieve three marks, even for super unicum players?

4) is it true that assisted damage counts either tracking damage or spotting damage, but not both of them?

  1. Your average results from the last 100 battles are compared to the results of other players in that tank over the previous 14 days ... play one battle, score a couple of hits and you're already better than the guys who scored zero damage and didn't play that tank again.
  2. As previous. You haven't reached the 100 battles milestone so one bad result can knock your score simply because of the way the calculation is done, it skews the average through virtue of your not having more good battles to pad the occasional bad one.
  3. Because the requirements are high. If only good players unlock the tank (i.e. 279), the average results are going to trend upwards. The Chimera is easier to unlock but appears to be a difficult tank to play well so only good players play it, the rest park it in the garage and play something else. Remember the bit about comparing to results of battles played in the last 14 days - if only good players have played the tank in that time, the requirements will be higher.
  4. Yes, whichever is higher.

1) your combined damage value is a percentage of the requirements.
2) The value is calculated as an exponential moving average. Also, basically at the start of the game you don't start with the % it showed in garage, but 1% or so lower. So if you do 0 damage, you end up 1 % lower. But if you do as much as you usually do, you get your % (in game) up to the % it showed in garage.
3) Some unicums do 3mark those, but it's so hard because the requirements bare crazy high.
4) Yes.

It's far easier to just get your tank to turn blue, then everyone will notice you :)

It's not better than 1-2%. It's more like the average vs everyone that played in the past 14 days. And to get a 1% average, you don't need to do much.

The higher the %, the more you need each game to get it up. On 1 to 10% it will go up if you do 100 or more damage. On 90% you need close to 2000 damage suddenly to even get a 0.01% increase. Less then that and it will go down. As the higher you go, the more you need basically. Or if you have not played the tank in ages, as in not in the past 14 days or more. The recent average might have gone up or down. And when it updates it might jump on a bad game. Or drop on a great game. As the easiest MOE I've had was from 84% to 98% with 1K combined damage and assist in the Chaffee. As the average vs when I played it last had dropped massively. And I've not played it for over a year at that point.

It's like Ace badges. There you need to be better than 99% to get it. The fewer players that own a tank, the less you have to beat for that 1%. And that 1% could be 10 massive carry games with 1500 XP. Vs over 10 000 games with 800 to 1500 XP on the most common played tanks. MOE is the same. As when only 2 to 300 have played it in the past 14 days out of the 2000 that own it. The 95% average mark is going to be high. As in more or less all the carry games they had in them. Thus you need great games to get the mark up.

Emil 1951 is a perfect example. Before it was given out as a reward. It was tested by a handful of community contributors. Most of them unicrons that had great games in them. Thus the MOE for 95% the first week was 5000 combined. That 2x more than most tier 8 HT's. As it was comparing the average the past 14 days vs 20 players. Not 100 000.

Spotting and tracking assist count individually. But if you have tracked a target you are spotting, and someone else hits it. You will only get one of them. Not both. And track goes over assist.
