I know WG are intending to make boosters available to shorten the FL grind but their impact will depend on their availability and very likely expense. For me, near all the pleasure of playing in a mode that allows you to face tanks of your own tier has been leached out by how much you need to play it to get to tier 10. I'm a player that seems to most often reach the rank of Captain within a mind-breaking hairs breath of Major each game with Major as my next most achieved rank and then with a thin sprinkling of Generals and Lieutenants mixed in, which is pretty typical for a lot of players given the results screen. Ok, so we don't have to play to get the mediocre tier 9 reward tank but many of us would have been suckered in by the fact WG kept the tier 9 secret for much of this season and built up a lot of momentum when FL was new, fresh and fun. Now I'm at tier 7, with just 3 tiers left to go but have gone off the game mode to such a degree that it feels like wading through mud. Frankly can't wait for it to be over and have zero intention of grinding out the full 10 tiers next season regardless of what the reward may be. Just me?

The AE Phase I is not a mediocre reward, it's a good tank in my opinion. It'd be a shame to go this far and stop at tier 7.

The second game I played in frontline was when it became boring and unpleasurable. That's when I stopped playing it also.

I've reached rank 10 this year. :great:

I haven't prestiged yet, is that important?

FWIW I still think the game mode is fun but it's fun as a distraction or a way to earn some credits, it's not fun in the sense that I want to jump into FL the moment I start playing. Throw on some boosters, play premium tanks for an hour or two, save up some credits for regular tanks and gold ammo to put in them.

I'd really like to have the Emil 1951 in my garage but having taken a break for the first half of this year and not being bothered to play nothing but FL to make up for lost time, I can wait until it goes on sale. I'm guessing it'll appear one day in the Christmas sales but if it doesn't, I can wait a bit longer. :)

I'm kinda committed to reaching tier X this season, it's just annoying that an experience which was good has been made bad by the degree with which you are required to play in order to reach X shiny bauble. I half think FL is paying the price as a solution to keeping player activity up.

It takes 2-3 days atm for me to complete the cap level each week now. As the first cap took more or less all week. The issue is that tho it's rewarding in terms of crew XP, free XP and credits. It's still boring as heck, and gets repetitive fast.

Even after a 3 week break, it doesn't take many battles before that same feeling sets in again. But at this point with only 2 levels left. I'm not gonna leave it now after that effort to bypass the tier 9 reward. Next season if not much has changed. I might not bother at all depending on how easy or rare they reward those boosters out, or if they are store only. If the XP demands was the same as the test season last year, as in half on level 25 to 30 more or less vs now. I suspect more would not mind it. And find it less boring.

And tbh. If they revealed the tier 9 reward instantly. I suspect more would give up faster, vs going for this long not knowing what it was.

Played FL a few times during first phase but got bored with the map, not a whine just how it was.

Maybe if WG were to introduce a second map it would rekindle my interest.

No way I would have bothered knowing what the tier 9 was from the start. Which means that whole mystery tank thing worked on me. Problem for WG is; that won't work next year, this years experience will put so many people off.

It'd help. I think you need 3 maps on rotation out of 9 or 12 to really reduce the repetitiveness tho.

Personally I've enjoyed my FL games partly because I have zero interest in or knowledge of the grind.

I quickly realised the grind to get the t9 tank was far too much for me to be bothered. I think I have nearly reached 4 :) I've played it sparingly and it has been fairly enjoyable. It desperately needs new maps, personally, I would rest the original map completely and let the new one run solo a few iterations.

I agree they have tarnished the modes appeal with the extended grind prompt for the t9 though. When it starts to feel like a chore its time to do something else.

I find the mode fun to play, but I find the grind far too long.

The original FL was great fun as folks played their techtree tier 8’s. True, there were the new Progettos and older Skorpion G’s, but also many players grinded their stock tier 8’s. And the amount progettos was still much more limited back then.

But now we have a grinding goal and the best tools towards the goal are new owerpowered premium tanks. Progetto, Skorpion, EBR and IS-3A and maybe TS-5 are far too common. It is so boring. I’ve seen one Centurion I and a couple of T69’s during this years FL and yet they were pretty common in last years FL.

So for me the FL has degenerated to simply grinding credits in case I ever return to randoms. Actually the only reason I attend to current FL episode is the freak 7 day premium I got out of nowhere.

Yah, the First Iteration of Frontline was Fun, no Prestige, and Rank was Bragging Rights but not a Big Deal.....      It was all about Blowing stuff Up, Making Credits, Grinding Tanks and Crew against your Own Tier, nothing more.....

If you Won, Great....      If you Lost, hit Battle again....     The End Result was No Harm, No Foul if you made your Credit and XP Goals for your Tank or Crew....

I get that they wanna Freshen it Up, but if it ain't Broke, Don't Fix it....      Map had Issues only, not the Rest....     I think they lost Sight of the Fact that some just wanna Play the Game and not Work like Grinding a Line....     It needs to Return to what it Was and be a Break from the Grind, not More of the Same...

Grind is not an issue... if we had some variation. Fun lasts for about 2-3 matches before you do the same over and over again, on the same spot, react the same way each time to enemy movements. Go to the same spots to counter. After defending the same hill 100+ times vs the same tanks pushing the same way. The fun kinda leaves.

The 2nd map can't come fast enough if I am to bother with this next season.

I liked it more last year (except C cap). EBR wheelies really screwed over this game mode.

It won't go to sale as it's from the get go been stated to be FL exclusive. Your best bet is to wait till 2020 FL seasons if you can't be bothered to play now.

And inb4 someone says ''but it's WG of course they will sell it''

Just
