Hi guys, sry for posting here.

I have a problem with game launcher, I tried to contact support but could'nt do it.

I'm using windows XP, old machine, and I am aware they said it will not get supported from July or smthing ,

but when I try to launch the game bloody game center tries to update it self , which can no longer do

and prevents me from starting the game. Any1 have any idea how to go around it or something..?

Tx, and again sry for posting here..

XP is so unsupported these days you may as well buy a new PC with win 10 already installed.

5 years ago it amazed me that a company I worked for still had some PCs with Windows XP. Didn't expect that gamers would still be using it years later.

Gaming aside, using WinXP on anything connected to the internet these days is a bad idea overall since it stopped getting security updates several years ago.

So yeah, get a PC that runs Win10 instead.

Don't bother with Vista, 7, 8, or 8.1 since those either don't have support anymore, or will soon have it end for them.

You might want to make sure to get the 64-Bit version while at it.

The new all in one game updater/launcher doesnt support Windows XP as of today. There was an announcment:

We inform you that since July 25, 2019, Wargaming (completely, comprehensively) ceases to support Windows XP and Windows Vista. To continue using the company’s products, you need to install a more modern operating system. If you cannot upgrade Windows XP online, you can use the temporary alternative method to start and update World of Tanks.

How to play on Windows XP

We have stopped official support for Windows XP. However, we want users who do not have the technical ability to install a more modern operating system to continue to play World of Tanks.

To run the game on a computer running Windows XP, follow the instructions:

Download the RestoreLauncher app.

Close Game Center.

Unpack the application to the game folder (for example, D: \ Games \ World_of_Tanks).

Run the application.

When the installation is complete, an alternative launcher will start.

Now you can play World of Tanks on Windows XP.

As stated above, the life cycle of Windows 7 ends on the 14th January 2020 for generic Home Users and 2023 for Professional/ Enterprise users who opt into paid "Extended Security Updates" (Windows 10 still doesn't hit the mark for some of us).

If you're only using the system for browsing/ emails/ gaming/ similar then 10 should meet your needs, and possibly exceed them. :)

One of my machines is running Windows 98 Version B purely on the basis that it works and runs all related software without reinventing the metaphorical wheel. :D
