So i see that the manticore has had some changes that WG havent told us about (I havent seen anywhere anyway)

These include:

  • Aim time decreased from 2.30s to 1.9s
  • Shell capacity increased from 16 to 20
  • Engine power increased from 500HP to 530HP, so power to weight changed also from 40.32hp/t to 42.74hp/t
  • Turret traverse speed increased from 35°/sec to 40°/sec
  • Potential damage increased from 6240HP to 7800HP

I cannot comment on the camo as I dont have values from CT1

All statistics have not been compared as tanks.gg has not updated to CT2 and ingame it doesnt show everything.

I havent seen WG or a representative speak about these changes and whilst they are subtle and do help the vehicle, I feel like a higher top speed and more base view range would greatly benefit this vehicle.

If these changes have been posted anywhere by another player or WG I havent seen them so dont go mad.

I will update this post if I find any changes to the other British lights

EDIT

GSOR3301 changes:

  • Engine power increased from 250HP to 265HP meaning an increase in power to weight from 37.19hp/t to 39.42hp/t
  • Turret traverse speed increased from 40.25°/sec to 44.85°/sec

LHMTV changes:

  • Engine power increase from 150HP to 160HP meaning an increase in power to weight from 31.24hp/t to 33.33hp/t
  • Turret traverse speed increased from 40.25°/sec to 44.85°/sec

GSR 3301 Setter changes:

  • Turret traverse speed increased from 35°/sec to 43.81°/sec

WG just doesn't like LTs.

As this is a game featuring tanks, the association here is that tanks have armour, which supposedly block incoming fire. This because they have read or heard some tank commander, or have been in one themselves, that was able to absorb cosmic amounts of punishment while emerging victories with nothing but a few scratches and indents...

Except they do not consider the 10.000+ vehicles that were not as lucky - I recommend TankPorn (@moderation, it's not adult content) on Reddit and Imgur, specially Imgur, for pictures of what I mean.

So, people DL the game, grind a KV-1 - thus Steve is born - and expect to be heroes themselves but that doesn't happen the way they planned now, does it?

To address that, you reduce the combat abilities of certain vehicle types so they're not as effective against "armour" (transl.: you NERF them) or you change whatever conditions where that vehicle spawns in so their high combat abilities can't be effectively utilized against "armour" (meaning, you make corridor maps, you change std/gold ammos, you create class-specific areas, etc - what I call "environmental nerfs").

Since HTs lack pen to go through each other's fronts (~250mm @ Tier X without weakspots - gg nice meme), "armour", the concept people who come here for, that heard in Hollywood/Disney fairy tale stories, works.

"Armour", being made to be defeated.

If allowed to speak, some 45K T-34s would certainly agree.

I am not really sure what you mean by this, and I dont agree that WG dont like light tanks.

They have been basically made for scouting, so the fighting capabilities are obviously going to be low, but just scouting makes them seem a little worse than say an equal tier medium. However, they are still capable of dealing damage and annoying big heavy tank drivers.

Which i all find very disappointing. I love LT's and their playstyle, after being terrible for a long time im finally embracing the scout life and it has lead me to good success. Yet on some maps you just can't do that, there is no "scouting" and flanking or stealthy plays are limited. In those types of scenarios i feel utterly worthless as my viewrange and mobility, the only range i have, count for nothing

I think that light tanks are why many of us continue to play the game. They are just so fun. However I do think that lots of the maps limit the capabilities of light tanks which in my opinion could be easily fixed. We dont need all maps to be nice for light tanks, but the ones that already should be have lots of bushes that dont work so scouting passively isnt even an option.

Not gonna change much. More ammo is nice. But for WG to do the role they said the UK lights would do. The other changes won't change anything.

Yeah for the Manticore, I think that a higher top speed and better view range like I said in the original post would be enough, but for the other tanksd it is just not enough for them to be competitive at their tiers.

I think putting them down a tier would still make them seem more balanced compared to other vehicles of the tier.
