On Pilsen, there are some flimsy racks (with wooden shelves) in one of the factories. My HE shells always stop in them.

Why does that happen but I can shoot HE even through thick vegetation (including large trees)?

Because trees aren't collision modeled.

Yes. But those flimsy racks can stop the shell. Because in-game suspended logic.

You might have missed the memo. It's an old one but...

You missed my point. Trees and bushes should stop them too or, otherwise, those flimsy racks or wooden fences shouldn't either. Just a question of being logically consistent in the game.

I didn't miss it because your "point" is moot. You asked a question, I provided you with the answer. They set the rules, they showed you why it happens the way it does. The rest is with you.

Unless you're suggesting a change, that is, in which case, go right ahead.

Never underestimate the power of a properly rendered rack.

The trick to this game is not to try to find the logic. Instead, try to realise the truth. There is no spoon logic, but at least you can apply it consistently.

Since wooden racks are few, it would not make much sense for trees to stop then. Imagine the power the magical forest would wield then. Fences makes sense, racks too even.  Trees, less so.

Lost a game because I couldn't reset enemy's base capture. My HE shell was stopped by... an umbrella!

In stalingrad one wooden electric pillar could stop shells.
