I know this came up several times already, can't be bothered to necro some old thread... Anyways, I'll just leave this link here.

Any veteran player out there care to speculate what " old element & freedom of choice" might refer to...???

This has been suggested many times.  There are a few problems with this idea, the main one being that WG can't really change the characterises of something someone paid real money for (T26e4 as an example of what happens).

I personally would like the idea but the constant power creep would render by fun, go-to tanks obsolete in no time, I'm sure.

Armored Warfare did that. Needles to say, it wasn't a popular decision. The pricing was of the charts and the milking even worse. I would prefer a proper re-balance.

After giving this some thought, I have to disagree. If I were to convert a tech-tree tank to premium status, I wouldn't pay money for the actual tank. I'd have to grind for it, unlock it with xp and buy it with credits, all that can be done by a f2p player.

What I'd pay for would be increased credit income, wich could be seen as a variant of converting gold to credits, and the ability to use multiple crews in the tank.

Plus, I'm sureWG could add a clause to the upgrade token wich forces you to accept the possibility of chamges that could be made to the tank in question at any point in the future. I'm no laywer, so I don't know how viable this would be from a legal pov, but I think it's possible. After all, we don't even "own" premium tanks we buy, we're merely renting them. At least that's my understanding

That seems fairly reasonable but remember how stupid the average WoT player is and now take in to account that half of them are stupider than that.  It would be something that WG would have to take into consideration.

I would personally like the idea but can't see it happening any time soon as WG seem to make enough money from premium fantasy tanks.  Maybe when they run out of ideas for made up designs?

Freedom of choice usually means accept or gtfo.

What if you could just buy special camo to make the elited tech tree tanks use other crews like premiums do? It would be nice to revisit tanks in garage without need of new trained crews or retraining, premium bonuses or not.

I'd like that, but I don't see it coming.

No one would make a premium Hellcat. Everyone would make a premium T67. So I doubt that's it.  And that other game did that. It received mixed reception, but it flooded the MM with the same tank, as everyone did it to the same tanks. But iirc they only had 25% extra income, not 50%. If it's 50%. Then why buy the Cromwell B if you can make the normal one a premium?

But... I'm sure some of you might recall the Hellcat with the derp on the tank reward page? I suspect it's more related to that.

Bad example with the CromB, as the true value in that one lies in the BiA crew that comes with it.

Also worth mentioning that todays main credit making premiums are at tier 8 - the credit potential of the tier 5/6 premiums is already significantly lower.

Going over my tech tree tanks, I could find a few candidates over all tiers, depending on the cost...

Karelia returns, and you have a choice to ban that map?
