Fancy a nice weekend with tanks in south England?

Went about 3 years ago, well worth the time and money.

There are tanks, and more tanks, and so little time. There is even a Chieftan MBT to climb into with a talk on the vehicle from a guide.

The only issue I had was with the restaurant which was full, even on a quiet day. Far better bring your own rations and eat outside away from the press.

Having said that, there was plenty of space around the tanks in the display areas since this was not a premium day. If you go for the big events be prepared for a crowd, but week days and quieter weekends are great for viewing the permanent displays.

Have been tempted to visit for quite some time. Unfortunately London -> Bovington -> London seems to take a while using public transportation. Renting a car would solve that, but the rumor has it that the stubborn island people still insist on driving on the wrong side of the road.

Went there during Tankfest this year...recommended day out, they had a special bus link provided that day which made it easier. The whole site is massive and takes some time to walk around, not sure if they serve food and drinks when the festival is not going.

„including Kosovo, Bosnia and..." For Your information WG they didn't see any fight in Serbia and Bosnia&Herzegovina. Just like they are in museum sitting in the base and collecting dust.

They most certainly left their base in Kosovo as part of their peace keeping role (which is very different from a warfighting role). WG says "in several operational enviroments including Kosovo, Bosnia and Iraq". Which is factually correct.

Ah, but they made it all the way to that base! With the ineptitude of British tank designers, that's an achievement in itself!

That is incorrect.. we drive on the right side of the road matey!
