Is it me or are tracers no longer in the game after update 1.6? I can't even see my own, whether I use arty or anything else.

Counter-arty no longer possible.

Tracers no longer visible on low-graphics settings. Switched to medium and it works.

But on medium settings my CPU/GPU load has doubled. So I'm supposed to significantly increase the pressure on my rig just to see a lame tracer?

I don't get it, why do they make these stupid changes.

It's annoying when playing other tanks too. You don't know where your shot went and you can't adjust your next one.

Funny thing is tracers are visible at low-graphics settings at tier 3. But the demand on the PC is the same as at medium-graphics. Two or even three times higher than before the patch.

What PC from this decade is stuck on minimum graphics?

If your load increases when you turn up the settings, then you had spare capacity anyway.
You're not going to break your GPU by turning the graphics above minimum.

You're doing the equivalent of buying a car and only using first gear.
It's designed to be able to do more.
You won't break it by going up through the gears, it will just go faster.

I'm not worried that my PC can't handle medium settings. It can, but I have two problems with that. 1. Why I preferred to play WoT in the first place. 2. Higher electricity bill.

1. I kept playing WoT because it allowed me to run a streaming video in the background (which I listened to or switched to between battles).

But WoT was consuming 15-22% of CPU back then so it was fine.

Now WoT at medium settings consumes 50-60% of my CPU. Running anything else in the background takes it to 95-100% of CPU/GPU.

I know, "well, stop running that in the background", but being able to do that was what made playing WoT preferable for me.

2. With WoT being more demanding my electricity bill will increase. So less bang for more buck. I'm not interested in graphics, but it seems WoT is trying to cater for the graphics-oriented players who like to see cool *boom pow bang* effects,

No, I'll just play any other non-windowed game instead when I feel like playing. WoT can keep their precious tracers.

Other tanks need tracers too, not just arties.

How do you adjust your crosshairs when leading a target if you can't tell where your previous shot went?

Do you also play in the dark?

If you're that short on money that you can't afford a few extra pennies a month, you shouldn't be spending your time playing WOT at all, but finding a second job to make ends meet.

Using your PC at close to 100% CPU+GPU capacity several hours per day for let's say 20 days a month doesn't amount to just "a few extra pennies".

And it's not that I can't make ends meet but why should I pay more just to be able to continue using a very simple feature like tracers? Which hasn't changed at all, they're the same old tracers.

Switching to medium graphics adds nothing I'm interested in (aside from the little tracers).

So, extra cost + nothing valued in return + I could use that money to do something else = not worth it.

Well then, maybe the question would be why you bought a sports car when a compact would have been far more fuel efficient?

Frankly, the game looks like garbage on minimum settings, but actually looks quite good when turned up.

Do you really like playing a game in a way that it looks like it's from the 90s when it could look so much better?

I don't play games based on how they look, I don't read books based on how interesting their covers are.

Anyway, let's shift the topic back to the tracers.

Why shouldn't tracers be visible on minimum settings? And why are some players here saying they too have noticed the absence of tracers even though they're on high settings? Is this some sort of bug?
