Didn't bother to play much yesterday when the missions started. I just finished the first mission, but the next one remains locked, even after logging in again. I doubt each mission will be unlocked after another day. Anyone else with this problem or is it only me?

"In total, there will be 10 stages that both novices and veterans can enjoy during this event. Missions unlock daily, with the first starting on August 9; you can begin playing any time before the end of the event and catch up on all the missions for the days you've missed."

I have read the article as far I know, but yesterday's mission started at 9:00 and by the time I posted this topic, it was already 9:30. Right now it's 10:00 and still locked.

I see it indeed, but the article also says this: "Each new Czech Holidays mission will be available daily at 08:00 UTC."

They can't really extend the event either, without extending the following Frontline as well, since people would hate to have to focus on both.

Well they only unlocked it at 10:08 am, instead of the 8 am they wrote though.

Guess there is an 8 in there though.

Time zones, how do they work?  hint: the secret is in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)

8:00 UTC is basically GMT

At 8:00 UTC in the GMT+1 zone it would be 9:00

At 8:00 UTC in the GMT+2 zone it would be 10:00

Y'all need to learn your time zones.

Nobody use that time zone though, due to summer/standard time.

Well you know what they say, it's 8 o'clock somewhere. That's how time zones works.

UTC+0 is standard (winter) time for Éire and the United Kingdom (and various other countries besides).

UTC+1 is summer time for Éire and the United Kingdom, and standard (winter) time for a large part of central/west europe (also known as CET).

UTC+2 is summer time for central/west europe (also known as CEST) and standard (winter) time for Poland and such countries.

UTC+3 is summer time for Poland and such countries.

Etc. etc.

So rather than listing it for all the time zones seperately, Wargaming imagined their customers to be intelligent enough to at least know the basics of time zones and DST and what-not.

TL;DR: Wargaming communicated it properly, but the OP failed to realise the obvious basics of timezones.

You mean that arbitrary number that usually deviates from the "accepted standard" for the various series?

Anyhow, the current year is Juche 108.
