Hello :)

As we all know we usually give stuff nicknames based on our experience, it sounds like something else or just because its so easy to convert the name to have different meaning.

we do that in English or in our native tongue, so i wanted to ask: What nicknames have you given to tanks, maps and etc?

be it a inside joke between your friends so that only they will understand it, somebody told it to you, term that the Clan uses for ease of communication or term used in your country or worldwide.

why do i ask? because its interesting to know and maybe some players find nicknames that they dont know the meaning of but have heard it somewhere before.

or maybe you just want to crack a joke.

im going to start off by telling few that i use time to time.  as a joke or just because its way easier than saying the actual name :P

going to start with   English -> nickname in Finnish -> English

Rhm.-B. WT     we call         ''Ryhmy''          which means   Knob or a Knot.

SU-100M1   is       ''SUOMI''     =    FINLAND.

O-Ho   is just  ''OHO''   we always say it sounding surprised as ''OHO''   means OOPS in Finnish (i swear, you can even google translate it)

IS-M   is    ''ISMO''     a Finnish name

Binocular Telescope    are   ''Piri kiikarit''    =  ''Speed''  (the drug)  field glasses

Names with little changes:

all WZ model of tanks are ''WC''  as in toilet

IS-3A   is IK-EA

O-Ni     ''Onii Chan''    (how original)

Foch   is ''FoKK''   and when one suddenly appears,  we go ''Fokken yell mate!'' in the most ridiculous Australian accent.

M41D is MAID

those are some that i've heard and use.

i dont expect that everyone will understand the reasoning behind the nicknames as some of them are a inside joke.

Unlike in League, I rarely use "Finnish" names for tanks. Although I do "translate" the numbers.

Like, 430U = "Neljä-kolme-nolla-U", Four-three-zero-U (For reference, 430 is usually said Four-Thirty in English, which would be "Neljä-kolmekymmentä" in Finnish. It is faster to say the number one-by-one).

When it comes to maps, I do occasionally call Prokhorovka "PoroHoro" :P

Province - that tier 2 map

Widepark - that tier 5 map

Paris  - that crapmap

Minks - that other crapmap

Murovanka - the foresty one

Malinovka - Campinovka

Himmelsdorf - Himmelsdork

Ruinburg - Ruinedberg

Played strongholds with a clan recently they were calling the leKpz M 41 90 mm GF "the girl friend" took me a quite a while to realise what they were referencing!

i do the same.  it easier to understand as well.

i carry the same to English ''kill that OBJ two seven seven'' is way easier and simpler to say than two hundred and seventy seven. :P

I got a special one for the TVP VTU that's in Finnish, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to write it on the forum.

Walking as in moving.

Is It Rolling? Because we allways roll out...

what is the correct term for tanks movement?

IS-M   is    ''ISMO''     a Finnish name

Consiering one of the funniest comedians atm has that name. It's kinda wrong to use that on the IS-M.
