There was always a button you could press to temporarily disable that mod

I would have liked them to yes dispose of the actual damage but keep the penalties as though the damage had been done, meaning turn blue, pay the damage fines etc.  This way the idea of ruining others fun is gone by not being able to kill or track them but keeping it a bit realistic in making you not want to hit them.  Granted I kind of like being able to breeze a shot alongside a friendlies turret 300m away and hit the red behind him without worry but on the realism side, I don't think I'd want to risk it in a real situation.  In low tier I've had someone follow me around shooting me until a red got him, annoying but at least I got to keep playing.   I suppose the "Lucky" commorative tokens will be very rare now :)

Imo, they could've done the same as in WoWS:

Let the offender take damage themselves proportional to the damage inflicted.

The amount of griefing and pushing tanks out in the line of fire is unreal, friendly fire have to come back.

There was nothing wrong with team damage it was the punishment system which was broken.

 

The blue status should have gone and the thresholds should have been lowered.

 

As usual WG fix the thing which isn't broken.
