Actually im the one that is often angry at people labelling everything a conspiracy theory, which does not live up to their expections or positive worldview.

Yet, now i am the one doubting a theory i was confronted with today. Maybe you can help.

What happend?
After a match i got the usual rant. This time accusing me of using an aimbot. This is obscure, because I only use some mods from Aslains modspack (crosshair, zoom, tankicons, battlehitsviewer).
I neither use any autoaim-mod nor do i use autoaim on regular basis at all. Once in 5 games maybe.  My performance in that game was also not good. Yes, 20 years ago I played Quake3Arena on a high skill level and I can be fast with aiming, but I dont think that this is of much worth in WoT anyway. The dispersion is so high,  the aimingtimes so long, RNG is having such an huge impact that an aimbot would barely be useful at all. Tactical Insight and Mapknowledge, however, have a bigger influence in WoT than simple aiming [edited].

Some month ago i got a similar accusation, since people cannot understand that at some point in my WoT-experience i realized "some" stuff and got a better. Yet, im still not even a good player, im just not a pure burden as i was before. So it is hard to convince them of anything, because of a strange argument: "my hitrate of around 70% does not match my winrate".
That should be a proof for him/them that i must be using an aimbot. I have no clue if there is a strong correlation between those two factors at all. i doubt it.

Offering my replay does not help the situation either, so i get even more confusing accusations.

See for yourself:

Okay - so what is the point of this thread?
As you surely noticed i simply wanted to get this confrontation off my chest. I really hate cheating to the bone. Even though I know that my anxiety for getting banned for something I did not do is unreasonable, i still feel bothered by this accusations a lot more than from simple insults. I could ignore this guy, because his arguments make not much sense anyway.  His stats even suggest that he thinks statpadding in lowtiertanks make you a better player. Yet, his last argument is really weird. I neither have heard of "shadowbanning" nor do i really understand what it should be. For that reason i dont want to trivialize it. He seems to believe that there is something like an algorythm that has found out that im using an aimbot, while i have spent enough money on the account, so i dont get banned for it. All i get is "worse" matchmaking and "worse" RNG. Im asking myself, why WG does not give me better RNG for spending money on the game then? With my aiming skills i could make use of it.

All jokes aside: In the end, I cannot proof for sure that Wargaming does anything with any accounts and i quess you cannot be 100% sure, too.

Have there been other Incidents that suggest something like this exists? I mean Skill4ltu's problem with his modpack that caused lag on people aiming at him was kinda weird, too.

So what do you think? Is this guy up to something or is it just known that the server knows?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing can be done about players resorting to the post hoc fallacy of you shot me, therefore, you are cheating.  It's the same evidence that religionists, flat earthers and other conspiracists need.  These people almost certainly have no idea of syllogism or epistemology.

Don't worry. If you do worry, they have kind of won, because that is the entire point of this nonsense: to make you feel uncomfortable. WG has a hard time banning actual 'cheaters', let alone they get around to banning people for no good reason whatsoever.

Try this line in the future: "Thank you for the compliment. Have a good day."

No need to further waste your time on sad incompetents who think that the barest hint of skill MUST obviously be the result of cheating.

Shadow banning is a thing on some forums where a trollish or annoying poster is flagged so that while they appear to be posting normally, no one else sees their posts. They think that everyone's stunned into silence by their devastating insights and the stunning wit with which they deliver them while the rest of the community continues undisturbed.

This usage in game appears to be the result of children picking up on the term and thinking it sounds cool and/or ominous. In short, it's nonsense, he's trying to upset you. There's no blacklist or sub-optimal settings applied to anyone, it's just another excuse for poor performance.

In future, stick them on the blacklist and get on with your day. They're not worth the effort.

Yup, the tier 2 statpadding accusation by OP checks out.

Congratulations, because of you, OP will now get punished for naming and shaming...and you get away unscathed...

Rest assured, there's a special place in hell reserved for people like you.

How do you work that out? OP didn't name anyone, he named himself. OP's in the clear.

Sooo, why are you accusing people of aimbotting when you have no idea if they are or not.

And stop sealclubbing and learn to play the game.

Checking the first reply, confirming that poster is in fact the guy in OP's post by looking at his battle count in the H35, I thought it might be a possibility...thankfully, nothing happened, and hopefully the guy who confirmed that was his hatemail by replying in this thread will receive his just desserts in-game as well.

Kk, thanks for the feedback. I quess the underlying message is: Dont feed the troll.

Has anyone seen some weird stuff that could suggest "shadowbanning"? Like skill4ltu's mod problem i was mentioning earlier?

Plus/minus 25% RNG seems to do a good enough job at upsetting the tinfoil milliners, nothing else is required.

Maybe, but the 25% RNG so many people mention just refers to the range on damage and penetrations rolls, which is normal distributed. So deriving from that stuff any manipulation is kinda dumb, cause it is easy to check.

If there had been any manipulation to find, then it would have been within the dispersion of the "gunrange", which still seems to be a mystery to 99% of the WoT-Players, including famous ones like DezGames. And rightly so, to some degree, cause it is really hard to understand. It is not just a simple gaussian distribution within a maximum shotdispersion (anymore), but a heavily modified one, which we only know on a surface. And the aiming circle is not even accurately displaying the maximum dispersion. So in regards to the fact that it is hard to understand how accuracy works, especially how unreliable it actually is, i am not surprised if people feel betrayed and come up with other explanations. And to be fair Skill's experience with the mods was kinda of alarming as well.

In the end we cant be100% sure of anything so long we dont look into the code as well as the mathematical modelling and its translation on server to client side.

I would have been interested in any stuff that goes into that direction, so i gave him benefit of the doubt, but i quess i just wasted my time. :sceptic:

My hit rate would be higher if I didn't also help the team by shooting down buildings and other cover :)
