Does anyone else feel like the current implementation of the auto-bounce mechanic is too extreme? Like, its all or nothing: if you get the angle right you can bounce shots all day but if you get it wrong by even 1° you're toast? I know I'm gonna get unicums here saying "Lol, git gut noob." but maybe it would be less stressful if you could still bounce some portion of the shots even when you're not angled perfectly?

Something like this:

Spoiler

what do you think?

I think that armour usage is one of the few mechanics in wich RNG doesn't exist. Please let it be like this instead of adding another layer of randomness...

Letting the WoT internet casino RNG loose on any more aspects of gameplay is not going to improve the game IMO

Sorry I cannot help regarding auto-bounce, but I am a unicom when performing the auto-get-penned-angle.

Why would you want to only bounce half the damage because you're poorly angled when you can learn to do the angling properly and bounce all the damage?

Well that's what RNG exists for. To give the bad players a fighting chance against the best players. Because who doesn't like being outplayed by the dice.

I understand where you are coming from, but I will argue that this idea is a good thing.

Although it might look like the current system is 100% deterministic, it actually not. Even the most experienced player will make mistakes, under-angling from time to time. This system will just make them less punishing. They will still perform consistently better than the less experienced players.

Another thing is that the current WoT playerbase is becoming more and more skewed toward the body of veterans who've been playing this game for many years. Rather than giving another advantage to the players with 10000's of battles under the belt it might pay off to even the odds a bit.

While your idea may looks good with the eyes of a beginner, you will quickly understand why it is not. Many tanks rely on autobounce angle to deflect shells.

100mm armour, as many HT have, require autobounce angle to effectively sidescrape. Even 150mm require extream angles to counter high pen shells. My speciality is armour usage. I play a lot if super HTs and I know what I'm talking about. At first may looks nice, but after you learn all the game mechanics you will start to find it frustrating, especially as there is already the penetration roll to compensate for bad angling.

With less than 1000 games you still a newbie of  WoT. Just practice and before 5k games you will be able to compete with everyone else. :)

Armor angling is fine.

Auto-penning  armor because some unnamed Soviet nations had 2mm bigger guns is not.

Guess people should just spam 15cm HE to those angled sides then, eh? ;)
