As I understand it tank mark calculations per battle only count the highest out of the assist damage types (spotting or tracking) towards your mark percentage after that particular battle.

My question is that is this also used on the overall mark percentage? For example is only the highest overall out of the two counted towards your mark percentage, or is it only done on a battle by battle basis?

Cheers!

It takes your 100 last battles into account too. As in the average across those besides the battle by battle stage of combined damage. So if you have a zero-damage game leave as battle 101. And a good enter as the last one. It might reflect it differently vs your combined damage that game, as your average changes if that's what you meant?

Purely talking on an assisted damage basis.

I know that only tracking OR assist counts per battle (whichever is highest)

Just wondering if it's the same over all for the assist calculation?

So for example, if I do 3 battles with 1k spotting assist zero tracking, then 1 battle with zero spotting but 1k tracking assist.

Leaving me with 750 average spotting and 250 average tracking assist over the 4 battles.

Then for marks

Will the tracking assist in the 4th game be counted overall or be ignored?

So will my average assist (for marks) be 1k (All asistance damage), or 750 (spotting only, with the tracking ignored being the lower overall assist type)?

Ah I see your point now. Tbh then I'm not 100% sure, as most sites are still not in agreement on how MOE calculation works with that regards. And the old WG page for it only says damage done now. As they seem to have changed it.

Exactly what I thought.

I've looked everywhere for an answer to this, and can't find one.

INteresting to know if changing your playstyle to suit the map is ACTUALLY helping you gain marks or costing you?...

It's a battle by battle basis.

A common misunderstanding.  WoT does not keep a record of your past 100 battles.  It does not replace a game 100 games ago with the one you've just fought.

It actually uses a mathematical trick called "Exponential Moving Average".  This stores one value for the tank and updates that value after each battle.

Good example.  Your average "assist" will be 1000 not 750.

I just read a different EMA discussion regarding average with WG staff "tho well over 2 years old". And it did indeed mention the 100 battle aspect as you pointed out. Thus I stand corrected. But also pointed out the assist aspect as you also corrected. As I was genuinely curious too after that 2nd post, as I hoped it would not work like that.

Even so, info regarding MOE across most sites are rather conflicting still. Even if you use WG's own sites. So I can see why most are confused still.
