Played VK game on ruinberg, had a bad start. But good towards the end and kolobanovs was on the table. Then i had this bounce which screwed it. But i somehow killed 3 of his crew members without penning the shot? Which is the 2nd time in 62k Games i've ever seen that. First time was in a Cent 7/1 But never made a post as i lost the replay and had no screenshots.

Some sort of bug?

Reminds me of that scene in the film Fury - where the Tiger shot hits the Sherman commander clean in the head.

OK got it.

Oh no hang on.

Oh wait another "shot happens" thingy.  Dude thanks for posting but another of those "nobody knows" WG does retarded stuff glitches. They struggle to keep up with their bugs without managing these weirdisms.

It's World of Tanks.. what did you expect? If your loader sneeze too hard he might blow up your ammo rack :P

Just out of curiosity. What crew members did you kill?

You can see it in the screenshots: Commander - gunner - loader

Yes commander, gunner and the loader. Which is also confusing, because in the off chance that this is just a feature of open topped tanks i have never noticed in 62k games. then The commander, gunner and loader are not all going to be sitting on the same side of the gun surely?

Also, a few more battle hit pictures'

From what has been explained, internal modules and crew are simply internal hitboxes that a shell passes through after penetrating the armour, how much it hits depends on how far the shell travels after penetration. Given that the best explanation for this scenario is (a) poorly defined internal hitbox(es) which extend(s) beyond the exterior armour hitbox, allowing a shell to pass through internal modules without penetrating the exterior. Given that the tank is "open" its design likely has no outer hitbox covering these internal hitboxes at all.

This image shows the location of each crew.  And the size of their hitbox vs the armor hitbox. And yes... they seem to be sitting on the same side. More or less in the shells path.

The M12 has two loaders.

The two yellow upright sticks at the back are the loaders.

You can see the gunners knees intrude into one of the loaders so easily possible to have hit both.  Basically kneecapped all three.

Why does it always have to be a bug, just accept that it happened and if it happened then it's because that's how the game works.

You also have to wonder why there is an armour hole there when clearly there is something to hit in the visual model.

That's something you will have to take up with the people who designed the M12 but they might point out that the shield isn't there to protect from AP rounds and it would be expected that faced with a 1 on 1 battle with and enemy tank the crew should not sit rigidly in their positions but perhaps run like rabbits.

No bug here. Your shot didn't hit the armor or M12 but instead went through the hole between gun plate and tank hull, entered crew area and hit three crew members killing all three them and then continued to hit the back armor plate of crew compartment penetrating it but hitting nothing behind it.

My question is how accurate that mod is?

Is that info based on your client, server or enemy client? If there is any ping delay, even the shortest one on any side, the hit might shift compared to the image. Dunno.

Edit: thinking a bit more about it it is probably by enemy client reporting what happened so ping does not matter.

There is some doubt over that but in this case it seems to match the outcome.  Tank hitbox was not impacted but crew were in the firing line.

I used to be a loader like you, but then I took an AP shell to the knee. :hiding:
