I just wanted to pop in and show my appreciation for this event.

This is the first time I have ever completed one of these things ever in WoT.

There are not hidden grind mechanics, no new currency, no XP boosters.

Camping isn't the best way of playing the game which is a great change of pace from regular WoT.

There is no arty.

You can actually enjoy it playing alone.

The rewards are great, I got my first ever improved equipment from this event.

Overall I really liked the experience, would love for it to come back and give me a change to get some more of those bonds in way that doesn't require me to play my IS4.

Yes it is. So much so that I call this event Steel Camper.

Actually camping is not the best way to play this. Each stage of the battle requires different tactics. At the start and up to tier 5 you can't really look for a fight. Mid and late game, you must chase upgrades and find lone tanks to kill.

Yes it is. Easiest way too. I often finish on second place. Without actually fighting. It's hilarious. Steel Camper.

First I think we have different views on what camping is. Sitting still hiding behind a rock or in a bush are not valid tactics to win in this gamemode.

Second I don't consider finishing in second place winning.

Third do you really think people camp more in this than in regular games? (that was my point)

I have yet to see a good player, a streamer or someone actually trying to win camp like you describe. If you consider 2nd or 3rd place winning and is the ultimate goal of playing then okay!

Constant moving will give you more loot and XP ==>> make your tank better and prevent other tanks from doing so ==>> help you win. :)

hide, camp, camp hard...  till the end. you can finish second with 0 damage done. so far strategy works, off course very low chances to win against last one, but hey i'm here for money, bondz and camos, not for the fame :B

The post I replied to talked about the best way to play this mode, not the best way to win. Finishing a battle in top 3 or top 5 (as I do frequently while camping) without much of a hassle is the best way to play if you simply want to get to level 25 fast and easy. Minor effort for maximum returns.

In that case it's even better than I expected. I can play aggressively like I like to and succeed. You can camp and succeed, that is quite an upgrade from regular games, where the play style I prefer lets me play 10 games in 10 minutes.

Wait why did you move away from camping to a totally subjective semantics point about how to define best in gaming(for me best=winning)

So do you really camp more in this gamemode? Do you sit in bushes and in your experience do more people camp in this game mode than in regular?

You're confused.

I replied to a post that talked about the best way to play Steel Hunter. And I said that camping is the best way to play. To which you came in the discussion and said "Second I don't consider finishing in second place winning."

Well, who was talking about winning? I wasn't. The post I replied to wasn't. So you're the one who moved the topic to winning.

Well you are replying to me, so I get to put a spin on what best means. Most wins best way.

Now you are saying you win more, before you said you were often coming second.

Lastly I really want to hear your definition of camping, because everything you say doesn't make any sense unless you have a very nonstandard definition.

Well, war was always about the ones who camped best and avoided getting killed....

Surviving is not about killing... it is about not dying..

I'm not home so I haven't played this game mode yet.

But ! I don't like what I'm seeing on youtube.

OK, Wargaming is trying to find new stuff for us to do but usually is some sort of casual/arcade mode. Stuff we do just because there is a reward at the end and has little to no value as a competition.

I couldn't care less about these type of modes and I hate being forced to play them just to keep up with others in equipment.

Yes, I win chevrons with minimal effort.

If your way of playing is better, let's compare. What's your level and how many games did you play to get there?

Post your definition of camping if you're so much into definitions.

Camping to me is sitting in a corner waiting for someone to kill. Specifically in WoT that would be sitting in a double bush near redline, or maybe waiting in hulldown position all game, hugging one rock etc. Generally not moving waiting for some to drive in front of your gun.

My way of playing is definitely better for me, I can't really image how you manage to succeed by camping in this game mode. Unless you think camping is something totally different.

Here are my stats, don't be too harsh as I said this is the first event I have actually finished in this game.

Yeah your right the best tank is the Russian one, the fastest:

Simply collect drops, aviod at the start airdrops unless its right next you.

Come across another tank using Radio detection? Go the other way use the speed boost if you have to...

Odds are you be in the top 10 if not the top 5... You gain at least 1 Chev..

Just Repeat..

, better say "Penalty Camper", you may die on first 15sec. if you have just bad luck with spawn point and lose last grind in seconds.
