I'm wondering, has anyone tried playing Steel Hunter mode in the platoon? Battle royal games are insanely more fun playing in a team instead of doing solo. So, could that be the case with WoT as well?

I got held down and pommeled by a platoon in Steel Hunter during the early moments of a battle, Shawshank style, if that counts? I haven't been able to sit down since. And there I was thinking Polish were nice and kind.

Yeah, and platoons are way more interesting. More tactical options, besides the friendly company.

Not that tactics are for everyone, though  :D

To be honest, tooning did make a difference. Solo it was horrendous, but tooning was amusing......apart from coming up against a Fame/Meme toon!

I found solo increasingly frustrating, no matter what I did I rarely beat anyone 1 v 1, so had just about given up. Then yesterday some clan took me under their wing and the platoon was much more fun.

I learned a lot about what I was doing wrong and what happens with exp gained.

I still haven't the agility for 1 v 1 in close quarters or remembering what buttons to push. But I can run, hide, collect stuff and get a bit more Thief like fun (old PC game where idea was not to be seen) that I had before when I hadn't the team experience.

So I highly recommend teams for those finding the mode unbearable.

Allright, after talking with an authority on the subject, I learned that treating the game like PacMan until there are only a few squares left brings a lot of success - and it doesn't seem to be a big issue to avoid combat until late-game.

I'd appreciate the game placing an emphasis on rewards for combat at the point where the remaining tanks won't lose any chevrons. That would heavily encourage seeking combat rather than avoiding it. Perhaps the airdrops should stop at some point, and the zone shrink in such a way that it brings tanks closer together? Maybe the radar should be a bit less powerful, or reveal the user more than it currently does?
