Hello :)

i have a new question but dont know the answer for it:

Will World of Tanks ever be ''Ready''?

and by ready i mean no more gimmicks or tanks to add, no more balancing needed as everything is just perfect.

or will it be a endless run of new gimmicks.

New tech tree & premium Tanks from time to time.

Tanks that get power creeped, over buffed/nerfed tanks & ETC.

new game modes that need things to be figured out and fixed from time to time.

MM, Arty, Wheeled tanks, Gold rounds, Auto loaders, Camo and what ever someone might want changed…

So, will World of Tanks ever be Ready?

i think that it will someday. But only if WG stops inventing new game modes, tanks and all that good stuff for the game and focus on polishing the game as it stands now. (this is not to say i dont like the new things WG adds to the game however)

but the time for that is not yet come i fear. Japan TD's are in to horizon and much more might come as Wheeled vehicles are now a thing. BA series for example might become a thing.

shortly said: Yes, it will be ready but not in the near future.

I think like most games it will die in a rather short timespan as soon as it is "ready" - as long as new content is added and accepted it will survive.

In it's current form it is as ready as you are.

Moment by moment readiness states, appear then disapear, live in the moment.

There is no tomorrow only the present.

That kind of ready? Well, for that kind, as in no more stuff to add I suspect we are still far away.

Oh, I do want to point out that ToTT's, Missions and other events that last for a while, like on Xmas for example.

Are what I expect to keep happening if the game hits "ready" state.

Most games have little things going on from time to time, so that it feels more alive.

In the game's current state, WoT is ready.

Ready to be buried.

No, and I very much doubt they have any intention of being 'ready' at any point. Heck, the progression model is kind of what the game's built on.

Sure, lots of software is ready.

  • Remember Visicalc? That's ready.
  • Wordstar? Ready!
  • Windows 98? Also ready!
  • WordPerfect is nearly ready, not quite yet

Like I said, lots of software is ready.

so basically: if new stuff stops coming in and everything is balanced the game will die?

apply sarcasm:  So as long there are OP premium tanks, Arty & such and power creeped tanks in the game, buffs/nerfs are delayed and no balancing is being made the game stays alive?

sarcasm off:  I understand some of you are coming from, but usually games die when a new addition is published. CoD's for example.

in case of World of Tanks there will most likely will not be a World of Tanks 2.

unless they go for present day Tanks or some Scifi warfare.

What keeps a game interesting?

Well for a start the basic game has to reasonably solid. The heart of the game needs to catch players interest and I think Wot does that.

Then there needs to updates, both to the game itself and to the content within it. So visuals, sounds, maps, vehicles, events. Again I think WoT delivers, even if these update don't appeal to everyone.

If the game stopped evolving, if no new additions were made, if everything became "set in stone", then more players would lose interest more quickly than as happens now.

I have seen a number of players drift away from WoT, mainly because they felt there was no more challenge for them. They saw other games, totally different to WoT and started playing those. No big drama, they just grew bored with WoT and moved on. They now play games like Elder Scrolls where numbers in a group are less restricted and playing together is easier (team play) that in WoT.

WoT will never be "ready". The game HAS to stay "on the move", has to constantly add new stuff upon new stuff, has to sprinkle more and more glitter and glamour on a rotting corpse - or else it will die. That's not to say that the game isn't dying right now - it is. Slowly but surely. But if it were to ever "stop", it'd die much faster, since I'm pretty sure that many players are just kept here by the (vain) hope that WG fixes the game "one day". If that hope were to be dashed, the game would be dead within months, if not weeks.

I don't think any popular F2P game will ever be "ready", because they need to keep adding and changing stuff to keep people playing.

It's the same for Dota2, LoL, Warframe, World of Tanks...

I don't believe it will ever be ready as they need to make more money. BUT if they keep following the same path as they are now.... The game will die and only the unicums will play this! Between themselves.

What you mean by "ready" is "finished", and it will indeed be finished when they stop adding content.

and there will be random battles where everyone knows that they are doing. Skilled gameplay.

make the wrong move in a battle and you will regret it. :justwait:

yes, but it has more meanings. (for me atleast) and you can go many ways if with those. (i blame language barriers and google translate. :P

''Finished'' means also:

Ready

Complete

Done

Over

Ended

Polished

and so on...

what i mean by ready is: complete, done, there is nothing more to be added. WG does not need to do anything but to look out for cheat mods, keep the servers up and watch the money flow…

maybe few more maps would not hurt but nothing that affects game balance, like Tanks, Nerfs or buffs.

have a look at cs, it had it's last update in 2003 (1.6) and yet people played it untill 2012, when CS:GO got released.
