I was expecting it to be an arty hitting you under water, so I'm slightly disappointed after watching your video, Gabe.

But anyways you were being a massive [youknowwhat] by trying to drown yourself and deny a kill for the enemy, so you deserved that. And I like and support such mechanics that help to fight against knobs playing in an unsportsmanlike way.

Doesn't matter, you're still a tool for trying to drown yourself. Grow some balls and fight like you want to win.

I remember when WG finally understood that a tank can`t burn under water and change the game that allowed you to get ride of the fire if you went into the water. But that didn`t last long cause now I saw you can burn like a torch even if fully submerge. So I`m not surprised that HE can hit a submarine!

Nobody (except you) is talking about samurai. We are talking about WoT.

You got what you deserved.

Blame hawok, wg does it as well. And dont expect much from this game, it still is a raw beta version and they are fine with that, cuz u still spend money on wg pixels.

Since when water can stop explosions (a chemical reaction)? Underwater explosions are even more dangerous and powerful than open-air explosions.

And in this case the shell penetrated armour and entered the tank.

Also, nothing wrong with underwater fires - there's plenty of oxygen inside the tank.

Blame for what? It's working as it supposed to work.

Next time, don't post before drinking your morning coffee...

Water doesn't stop shells, it isn't really modeled to behave like that, so, the fuse won't go off when hitting water.

Water most definetely stops shells, it has about 810 times the density of air, so what air does to shell velocity drop off in 810 meters, water should roughly do in one. And that's not even counting what the impact of the surface does to the shells.

Are we supposed to feel outraged about some sad cowardly unsportsmanlike player trying to drown himself being denied and killed off before he had the chance? I'm delighted and hopefully you get a ban too. He also has the nerve to come onto a forum to display this pathetic behavior believing he was genuinely going to get support about the "outrage" of being shot while under water.

first of all yer just a coward for suiciding

the shell would most likely detonate due to water still being pretty hard when hit, besides plenty fuses been used that didnt need a full solid object to hit but for "softer" objects. still doubt your crew would have made it out alive when a 15cm shell detonates slightly in the water creating a shockwave crippling lungs, sheet metal etc. more dangerous than open air shockwaves which transfer way less energy than in water

Royal Navy bomb disposal teams routinely try to explode ordnance in a body of water if possible, the damping effect compresses the area of effect greatly, as superolssen says, the density difference makes it a lot safer to bystanders :)

I think that he may be upset because the HE shell didn't detonate on contact with water. To be fair, at the velocity the shell travel, water doesn't behave as a newtonian fluid so the HE round should indeed detonate at impact over the water surface. As should HEAT do. And AP/APCR shell should also lose all the penetration in few meters, as water is 1000 time more dense than air.

But the question for the OP is: why should WG code those interaction? It would increase computational cost and be an advantage mainly for drowners!
