What do you do when you encounter an FV4201/T95 or Obj 279(e) on your flank? My reason for this question is that I've noticed a lot of player just retreat to the other flank or start redlining/protecting arty!, and dont even try to take the fight! I personally just start to help them do blocking missions!

I usually return to play mid tiers.

If I can engage it effectively I do. If I can't I relocate or, if even this fail, use armour to drain it's attention from the tank that can damage it.

Killed a 279e in the E100, heavily damaged Chieftains/279es with high caliber HE and so on.

Almost killed on in KV-4. Unluckily I got a phone call in the last part of the engagement, didn't noticed an E3 poking behind me so lost enought HP to be a oneshot for that Chieftain. Otherwise he would have been dead.

Oh, and take one of those out in the 704. Never understimate the BL-10! :justwait:

Not saying they are not OP/broken. They are! But panicking or fleeing don't help in killing them.

I personally try to flank if possible, or finish the tanks around it then attack it.

Move to another flank.  If I see either thats me billy big steps on the other flank.  I'll fight them "If" they have been softend up.

Saw Skill4U play the FV one all day yesterday, Didnt know he did clan wars, (was he given one?) , Really good player in a very good tank? I'll just quit if on the other side.... take the hit :)

Fight. I do not mind the outcome of that engagement.

Running away cannot solve the problem. You will either face him later again (with the same or less HP - which doesn't matter cause someone else needs to do his part of damage if one player can't kill him alone) or he will kill that someone else that did not run away, so you put your faith in the hands of others. Or maybe he dies if you run away, but killing him still needs to be done. Running away is a waste of time.

Two days ago 2 of us were defending cap (chieftain went valley on Lakeville). Ally yoloed eventually, and I have followed, he died, I had lost some HP but chieftain was dead. About a month ago I faced DuckOfDeath (superunicum) in his 279e while driving Foch155. It was south heavy side on Fjords. He held that chokepoint, so I went around and put a gold shell in his side and killed him. He did 5k that battle (his average AFAIK). We won, I PM-ed him, congratulated and said that tank is broken, he confirmed.

Those are good tanks, in hands of good players usually, fighting them is tough, but running away does not win battles.

Killed a 279e in the E100.

Same here, i destroyed it on ghost town, in heavies spot, it was 2 vs 1, the guy was just over angling it and i peened him with HEAT.

Mine was head on on Pilsen. He was like: "hurr durr will HEAT that E100!". I got shot 3 times, one bounced. I shot him 2 times too with HEAT. He died I got ~800HP of damage. Nice trade mate! :D

Gifted by WG for 45 days in order to 3 mark it.

And generally (90% of the time) that tank will be driving by good players. I could say its **** by WG to reward the best players in this game with arguably the best tank in the game, but I would rather say that some tanks, like this one, needs special MM where one is on both teams, and not just matched with an IS-4, "cuz they are both heavies".

Yeh WG gave him one to try to 3 mark it, the combined expectations are like 6.5k lol.

---------------------------------------

279e - Hope you have a tank with 330-340 HEAT and spam premium ammo at the upper plate, right in the middle just above the tracks, most 330-340 HEAT rounds will have about a 60-65% chance to pen there. Alternatively hope it over commits to somewhere it that is can be flanked or drawn into a cross fire.

T95/FV4201 - Don't bother to engage it in a hull down position, withdraw and try to draw it out from its defensive position into the open and then pen it through the weak lower plate. Not all are played by good players, I have seen a lot of players in this tank over commit and over peak in hull down spots often allowing you to pen the hull.

In both cases the fall back and attack the other flank plan generally requires mobility, so if you are in like a Maus or something then you are probably going to get farmed by these tanks to be honest.  Trying to aggressively clear the other flank and then using numbers advantage against these tanks is probably the best option.

I kill them. They are not that hard to take down. Especially when they think they are driving invulnerable tanks.

Edit: Both tanks are generally played by people who expect everybody to be scared of them. They over commit almost always.

6.5k seems pretty low

It's basically being responsible for about 25-30% of all the damage in a game, EVERY game, think how many like 15-1s, 15-4s etc. we have these days where everyone gets damage.

Doing arty missions these days (sorry guys :/ ) so when I see them I donate HE on top of them ... soften them up for team if possible.

And like mentioned above...quite a few do overcommit so if smacked at right moment team can get to have fun with them :P

Some 20 days a go, I was in e75, map Steppes, south spawn, went left, had E3 with me, they had 279 and VK ausf B.

I was shooting VK and E3 spammed APCR to 279, killed him very, very fast and we moved on, almost lost on neutral base cap..

Needless to say I was surprised, but it happens. Problem is when you meet those tanks with lower tiers..

Idk, they are OP as hell but there are so many things wrong with this game at the moment its just..too much
