It shouldnt have an effect I would think, since it depends on how your bank does its online transactions. 

 

For example, my bank has an app, which I have installed. I can check my balance, transfer money, request payment from others (if I paid for lunch, I can send my 3 other friends a payment request for their 1/4th of the bill I paid), etc etc. Also, if I order something online and pay with my debit account, the site will ask which bank I have an account with and redirect me to the login page of my bank. There I have the choice to log in normally on my computer, or scan the QR code on the same page after I logged in on the app my phone. I then confirm payment of the order via a pin number, and once validated, I will be redirected back to the original site and the order will be finalised. Same like WG are announcing in the article; its an extra layer of security before any purchases are finalised. 

 

Dunno if this will also apply to payments using credit card, but I assume it will.

 

The question therefore is, does your own bank support this extra security layer...?

Most Canadian and US banks(all my Debit and Credit Cards) already require a 2nd authentication for purchases outside of the home country, with this be a 3rd authentication? Really academic, since for me security is a paramount concern.

WoT or not, security should be a paramount concern in general. However, it never hurts to remind it

I dont believe this would be a 3rd authentication. Just the WG site adding that second verification, which for me using my credit card, never was necessary until now. If in doubt, use the player support link at the bottom of the news article.

For things like this, you can never be to safe so its a welcomed feature for sure

But wasn't it secure enough before? And were we not promised that it was? I myself am not too keen on giving fingerprints, facials and what not just to buy stuff.

Well, number of online fraud cases is high, as that platform became target for fraudsters. Hence, regulators decided do involve additional layers of security, as mentioned.

Most of the banks will give you option to use SMS code or similar, so you are not obliged on giving body as evidence

By the way, Visa has actually postponed this mandate for one year, while for Mastercard it is not yet clear. Reason is that most of the banks/processors are not yet ready to fully support these features.

Hi , Today i just tried to purchase from Specials, And unusually it lead me to the SCA Authentication page, I GOT PASS CODE TO MY PHONE, Entered it correctly and then it says ''authentication success'' then leads me to kind of blank page, Nothing happened and transaction wasn't done ..

I tried multiple of times, Same thing happens in each, Now what should i do please? Is it some problem with the purchasing system or with my card ?
