I use a GTX950, the STRIX model from ASUS. It's overclocked to 1500MHz on the core clock and 4001MHz(x2, 8002MHz effective) on the memory clock. Safe to say it's the strongest GTX950 ever released.

Unfortunately, if I crank the core clock to anything above +95MHz, there's a small chance the driver will crash randomly during battle...

I'm able to push it to +120MHz (1525MHz) on other games such as Project CARS 2 for example, without any issues.

So what is it about this game that makes it less compatible with overclocking? Is it the game or my well-used 4 year old GPU? The crashes started occuring several patches ago, hence, I was forced to turn the core clock speed down a little.

Could be heat related, maybe...

Just out of interest what does overclocking improve your FPS by?

Nah I doubt it's heat, readings don't go above 65°C on the GPU. Custom fan curve keeps it well-ventilated.

Haven't checked by how much the FPS improves but it should be around 5-10 FPS. I could determine it with a benchmark but...I'm afraid the EnCore benchmark test is outdated since it doesn't include the CPU core optimization.

There is a review about the exact same card I have right here, there's charts with FPS differences: https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-geforce-gtx-950-strix-review,30.html
