I remember from the Chaffee races you could switch lanes when you had to jump the gaps in the track ( 2 bridges if my memory serves me well ). This allowed for some crazy and - more important - fun gameplay.

You also risked to miss your lane switch and you could end up way behind (or even getting destroyed by the collision against the bridge or ground). On the other hand, you were able to knock aside the enemy tanks as they attempted their jump.

I've tried switching lanes in the current event (boosting while jumping the gap in the road), but there seems to be an invisible wall that bounces you back to your own track.

I'm really puzzled as to why this hasn't been included in this event. Lane switching was a fundamental part of the Chaffee races. Now it's just a stupid race to the end on your own lane, then fight it out. Boring.

Just take the Rashan tank, use boost constantly, auto aim and hold down the button whilst driving. Use your engine plate as much as possible in the area, easy GG.

Repeat until bored.

Somehow managed to switch lanes while boosting on a jump, but it was towards the end of the track just before the lanes merge, so maybe the shield walls run out at a certain point.

I have seen one tank switch lanes just after the spiral ramps and it looked as if they knew exactly the spot to drive at to do it.

Other than that I believe it has been made deliberately impossible.

As others have said, it seems to be possible by comming off the jumps after the second to last corner at an appropriate angle. It is also possible to land on the barrier, which does not seem to go well.

If you start on the right lane you can jump to the other lane after the downwards spiral on the first dirt jump with the boost. It's doable without the boost too but that was it's harder to get over the wall.

This is the angle you should take

Edit: Well I just noticed this little thing checking up on end dates.

They more or want you to do it there, as it's the first area with no hidden walls.
