I'm puzzled or perhaps curious or just can't comprehend the logic.

Had a battle on Westfield last night, I was in that finest SPG the CGC...

Anyways guy in Type 5 stated "he didn't like open maps preferred city maps"  as he drove down from the top flank parked beside me.

OK, I thought, he's going AFK but no he can't have as he was in team chat until the demise of our team.

So what I find puzzling is why would anyone remain in battle yet deliberately do nothing, I find it strange.....

He doesn't like certain maps which WG forces him to play on so he doesn't bother making any effort when he gets an unwanted map

Glad I could help

Silly 'consciousness objector' attitude. The type 5 doesn't care too much for arty with all that armor and spaced armor on the sides. He could've had a good game in this map and also there are 14 other players who could've used his help.

Simplest answer is the guy is a [edited]and wanted to take his ball home with him.  Can't play in a team, nor play by Other people's rules.   lack of social etiquette and skills.  Just the sort that are drawn to anonymous online games where this IS his social interaction.    The other people's rules I refer to are WG rules and MM etc  there are some I hate such as the +2 MM but I play with what I am given, I may say in game  "+2 MM is Edited stupid" but I try and play cos I'm not a cry baby and I get on with the game.   Any tanks that Park beside arty are bigger wussies than people think arty players are.   If people say arty are scum (which they do say a lot) then those that park beside or behind them are even worse.

I thought arty prevented camping? Not caused it.......:D

I kind of get the attitude, its a massively frustrating mechanic that you feel pretty hopeless against because really (especially on a map like Westfield with no cover) you have no counter or options against arty, especially 2-3 in a game, besides basically hard camp like he did.

But to be honest just sounds more that the guy is not very good at the game and can't handle other mechanics like mobility, view range etc. aside just having to deal with arty if he is just not going to play on open maps, sounds like it is more than arty that is the issue.

His approach is also just rather pointless, whilst playing in a game with 2-3 arty on an an open map can be a very frustrating and fruitless experience where you feel like you can basically do nothing, there is always a higher chance of actually doing something compared to literally doing nothing.

Plus you might get lucky and survive to the end to put a shell into the skypigs which is one of the best things in the game, getting one over the clicker that has focused you all game and killing them, then sending them a smug PM after the battle.

One of those players who mistakenly think "heavy tanks" are still the current meta.

Failure in critical thinking.  Clicking battle involves knowing how the MM works, the game types you have selected, the maps available in that game type, the tank you have decided to play and that you may get any combination of the above.

Next, you should know, how as a player, you feel when someone disrupts a game you are engaged with and be able to understand the effects of your own disruptive behaviour.

Finally, there is simply reading and agreeing to follow the EULA an action everybody should do after every update, where you agree not to do such behaviour.

Short-sighted, self-entitled and ignorant thinking that ignores the viel of ignorance.  Welcome to humanity 101.

I'd say report him, but since that doesn't seem to accomplishsquat, I guess the only thing I can say is that there are a lot of strange people out there...

Skill based matchmaking would fix it!

but it's much better to stick pub football players into the same teams as premier league unicoms

Why would anyone play the Type 5 in any map?

It would not fix it, it would just kill the game extremely quickly.

Lets see your proposition for skilled matchmaking, how would that look, please elaborate.

As stated he actually avoided arty perfectly, as arty lovers always tell you to do.

Just accept it. Yesterday got a T49 camping redline with derpgun on glacier waiting for someone to spot. You may ask yourself : Why do he even bother to play if he go straight away to redline in a so light friendly map ? Where is the fun for him ? Why would you choose to snipe with a derpgun ?

I personnaly think some players are, hmm, you know, "special".

There are loads of morons like that. Saw a Cent 7/1 suicide at the start as they didn't like the MM but stayed in game.

Arty does make people Basecamp and I can hardly blame them. 3 Arty at top tier means any positive play gets punished hard. WoT Meta is often first team to push loses....

"I thought arty prevented camping? Not caused it"  In this context very funny. :)

Who actually said that in first place though, cos they got 100% chance of being elected as us president I think  either that or unelected UK prime Minister...

Just 100% plain wrong and backwards thinking.
