As the title suggests, when I am zoomed close to the tank, the skin is clearly visible. But there is some sort of shadow/shader, whenever I zoom out the tank simply turns complete black.

Anyone that does skin modding can help ?

Much appreciated ! :)

All texture parts have 2 sizes. Chassis, gun, hull and turret files have 2 resolutions. The for new camo/marking skins relevant files are the _AM.dds and the _AM_hd.dds texture files. The First, AM.dds files, have 512×512/512×256/1024×1024/1024×512 pixel resolution and MUST be saved ALLWAYS in DXT1 WITH MipMaps!!
The second, AM_hd.dds files, have 1024×1024/2048×2048/2048×1024 pixel resolution and MUST be saved in DXT1 WITHOUT MipMaps!!!!
It is important to follow exact the relevant compression type and the use of MipMaps. If not you get the issues you have.
After finishing your skin in the hd version, save it without MipMaps and reduce the size to the sd size. For example: you made a hull skin in 2048×2048 size as a hd file and downsize it then to 1024×1024 for the sd version and save it WITH MipMaps.
Now you have hull skin files AM_.dds with MipMaps as sd file and the AM_hd.dds without MipMaps as the hd file. But remember: all AM.dds and AM_hd.dds must be saved in DXT1 compression!!
