Are tanks like the Chrysler K and Defender still relevant now?

Yes they are and probably will continue to be relevant for some time. Tier 8 MM got much better now than it was when these two were introduced. Not that the Defender needed that but it will definitely make life even easier for it and the Chrysler as well.

The Chrysler and tanks with rear mounted turrets are kind of special tools. They don't work well on uneven terrain and they don't like to be driven in the open because of the huge side profile. Cities and side scraping are your best bet even if it's not ideal to go there on some maps.

The Defender is well, a Defender. The gold standard of tier 8 heavies if you can deal with the awful gun. :)

Defender is fine

The Chrysler K is a nightmare, it has about 5% camo and gold goes through it like cheese

I tried hard with it, 300Alpha just can't compete now either

Chrysler K is a good tank, one of the best T8 heavies in game.

If you can't compete with it, then you can't compete in all T8 heavy tanks except like 3 or 4.

Defender can be dealt with fine these days. It's still really good but not so broken it's unstoppable. The turret isn't as strong as you might expect. I've gotten penned straight through the mantlet and have penned defenders through the mantlet. All the cupolas are easy pens too.

I very rarely fight against Chrysler Ks, And when I do see them in battle they get blown to pieces.

Sorry but he does have a point, I watch WG's vid on the Chrysler K, even angled it is penetrable, certainly not the OP monster that that CC said it was, if anything the gun on it needs a a buff, forcing you to use premium ammo is not good for any tank.

Very true, even if you manage t get that magic hull down spot, and just how many games do you get tier 6's in a tier 8 game?

Not many in mine.

They still have the same over-armored fronts that can't viably be penetrated by same tier standard ammo so yes, they are still relevant as always.

I mean putting what is effectively a T10 HT hull (IS-7) on Tier 8 will remain relevant for a very long time.

Cobra 6

No, it doesn't need a buff.

It is already strong.

It isn't super strong like Defender or IS-3A though.

But it is still one of the best T8 heavy tanks, especially if you are fine with using a few premium rounds (which removes the only bad part of the tank, the 198 pen).

If you are looking for T8 heavh tanks to buff, you should look at.

T32, Tiger II, VK 45.02A, AMX 50 100, AMX 65t, KV-4 and 110.

Considering the K can't even pen himself reliably. Then others will have issues too. And tho I really don't fear the Chrysler. I've seen a fair few hold a corner well with it, and block. But hardly pen most of their own shots at the same time, but held it long enough to get help and win the game. So you could say its... Situationally relevant.

That said, I've not seen too many of them of late. But it did spike a fair bit in sightings the last time it was sold vs the first time it was sold.

Chrysler K was never a good tank. It's a noob trap.

Defender is still super good.
