take damage blocked out of campaign missions

iv just came back after a long break and decided to start concentrating on my campaigns, most are doable with some luck and praying too rngesus but the blocked ones are nearly impossible now. yeah I know plenty of people have done them and it isn't even the gold spam, I use the 705a or Maus or others with good armour I can go hull down or side scrape to help me bouncing shells but all that happens every time I bounce one or 2 shells the enemy switches too he which doesn't bounce or even give me blocked damage. switch these missions to damage done as this would change the way I would approach such challenges. I understand that they can be done with just damage but 9-10k damage games are extremely rare to say the least(for a player of my skill) im up to the t55 final missions but 12k dmg/blocked is a really big ask as the game stands. I had a good game in my maus but the jpz e100 just loaded he and hit me for 400-600hp a shell. I mean you can work round gold ammo with some careful angling but heyour powerless too get that blocked damage. and why are the chimera first missions harder that the 279s......any advice how to do thses missions in the games current state would be appreciated. im using tier x do try these maybe other tiers are better?

Most load HE because there are also crit hit missions. And that doesn't work too well across bounce missions. But on some it helps that it's combined damage taken, blocked and done vs just blocked as others are. Tho they really should fix it so that full HE blocks are counted. As in when you nullify the damage due to it hitting to much armor. But it won't happen.

 

The only way to do those missions is more or less to find a poor sod in a -2 stock tank. And 100% ignore it and let him shoot you. Not gonna get that by seeking out tier X guns with HEAT loaded atm unless you can really tease side at more then 85 degrees.

I'm on HT-12 and I must say OP is right on that.

it depends on how many non gold users spam your turret

 

but as many missions it's mostly rng on what map you get

Suggestion for all the HT12 mission. Don't do it at tier 10. Tier 6-8 is the sweetspot.

It's not supposed to be easy.

 

But it also counts damage taken so if you use the Maus then that's 3k done before you start, you only need to block/cause 9k.  Yes it's a challenge but at least it's one not based on RNG like stupid set fire to an enemy missions.

 

On the whole I find the blocking missions the easiest to do.  Just take heavily armoured tank, get spotted 500m from most of the enemy, let them spam you, hide if arty starts shooting you.

I did all the damage block missions in not too crazily armoured heavies. Like the 277 and e75. People just don't bother shooting hull down is-7's or super-conqs. Maus's armour has been so overbuffed that, frankly, everyone not firing prem at the cheeks is an utter muppet. However, if people see and e75 or 277, they won't instantly go for the 2 key, and if you play it right, you can bounce tons of damage.

And this is why HE damage absorbed by armour (so say a 750 damage shell does 300 damage, the remaining 400) should be counted towards damage blocked.

It's stupid it doesn't at the moment.

update well the guys who said it could be done where right, it was hard due too the excess of he but it is possible, so for all you guys and gals who struggled like me keep the faith I feel your pain......I did it in the m4 51 and received 1600 dmg to myself your pain......I did it in the m4 51

Nice result. Congrats! Goes to show that effort, alongside creativity, is the way to go - even if the face of the supposedly "unrealistic" requirements. :)

Fair bet artillery would like to have some say in that.

 

I mean, it's a sound idea, but you're getting quite into 'spaghetti code' territory if you were to treat SPGs separately, (which, in this case, they arguably should) and so far it seems like WoT has been, for the most part, spared. A certain other tank-related title comes to mind, where minor tweaks wreaks havoc on performance statistics.

Totally agree. Block missions are generally horrible. 
 

And often skill will play too small a role, you need luck + very bad players on the other team. But not so bad that they have joined the full HE club. 
Premium ammo doesnt really bother me. HE and people just simply not shooting because they know they cant pen does.

Well I got 10k earlier in an E75. Shuffle sidescraping can block the most determined attacker, only on the stupid HT mission where you need to damage modules so it'll be awhile before I'm at HT 15...
